it seems every year the parents get worse in club soccer.they try and instruct the players on the field and just prove how little they know about soccer.they complain constantly about calls against their team good or bad. and they exagerate every call or slide tackle to where some one not watching would think they just had someone get punched in the face.for the most part they just distract and bother the players on both teams. what are your opinions on this?what teams have the best parents/worst parents?

You can add the Lafayette U-15 Parents to the other's mentioned. I am one and I move away to keep from being embarassed and to watch great games. Being a ref, I have to be quiet when parents grip about calls and they don't even know the rules. My fellow parents are some of the worse. Let's do silent Games!!!!

amen to that i play for lafayette's U-15 as the ref/parent might now.and the games we play against lafren. the parents are worse then the kids.we don't aregue as much with each other when we are playing and we are like rivals.most parents don't know the rules as the parent ref stated so most of the complaints on all sides are wrong.

LOS,
You've hit it perfectly. The players have great respect for each other and if the parents from BOTH teams would watch the players after the game, they would see that some of the boys are friends. I notice Joseph L hanging with a couple of the Lafreniere boys after the game. Ya'll know each other and just want to play and have fun. Let's have a game and not tell the parent!! Keep kickin

The red dogs parents and coaches are very disrupting to the game and curse and yell at other teams. There level of maturity is not high at all. Im 17 abou to be 18 in a few months and the title of "adult" does not fit SOME of the parents of the red dog team. Not all the parents are diruptive but a good bit of them are, anyways that is just my opinion so is anyone else agrees or disagrees please respond.

hmm my teams parents are horrible. one of the parents called or coach and said he was embarassed to be on the sideline with our teams parents/fans!
who are the Red Dogs? I used to play for a team with that name... but we finished last year. our parents were pretty bad.

Parents don't fully understand the game so, sometimes their ignorance shows. I coach and have done some refering. I understand where all parties are coming from, but when a referee is not consistant in his/her calls then perhaps parents and coaches have a valid point. As a coach sometimes I like when my parents come unglued at the ref, it will definitely keep them on their toes and not let them get complacant

I live in Bossier CIty. As a ref and a player, I've definately noticed that parents are pretty bad. The only thing that would help the parents would be to make them sit through the ref. class for a weekend/ So, from now on: If you're a parent who has never taken the class, then you are probably completely ignorant of the rules, sop just dont say anything. If you have taken the class, have the respect for you fellow refs and keep quiet. By the way, to just about every parent out there: just because the attacker is past the last defender does NOT mean that the ref must immediately call offside or become inept.
As a player: Somehow my parents always seem to be the worst. By the time you get to be in school soccer, though, you have either learned not to hear the parents at all, or you are putting balls into the stands to shut the louder ones up. So, I'll get off my soapbox now.

I don't mind parents yelling at the ref, myself. We're their kids, they want us to win, and that's why they badmouth officials' calls. I'm not condoning this behavior, but let's face it, the vast majority of people are not nice, so why should they be polite and courteous in a heated soccer match? The thing that does bother me, however, is parents talking to the opposing team's players. I make the occasional hard tackle, and it seems every time that somebody's baby gets knocked off their feet, they feel the urge to relate their opinion of my play to me, and usually in a hostile manner. What kind of an adult gets his kicks from insulting a 16-year-old? Come on, parents....badmouthing the ref isn't right, but at least he's getting paid. The kids are out there to have a good time, not to take crap from people on the sidelines that they don't even know.

will parents ever learn to shut up i mean half of the crap they say is either pointless or is something that makes no sense i really think it is funny when a parent starts yelling at a ref after making a call that both teams agree with and the parent has a problem with it cuz it was on his kid so he just yells i think all the parents should just shut up and watch

Best was years ago, two N O area teams were playing (I THINK Lafrenier was one, and cannot remember the other). The parents were forced to sit on the levee away from the field in order for the game to be played.

ive played lafreniere twcie this year and i do not think that the lafreniere u-15 parents are as bad as yall say. but i do agree with yall on the carrollton parents. we played them just last week and wow ive never heard parents yell louder. carrollton actually was getting the majoirty of the calls and when they did get the calls the parents would still complain.

Cajun Crew agianst Red dogs in the baton rouge tounrey was horrible. the game was tied and the crew had a PK right at the end. It was some what raining and some lady with a trench coat walks out blowing a whistle and calles the game, while all the other games were being played. Some cajun Crew parents over heard that the lady with the coat was one of the red dogs parents and called that game on purpose so the game would end in a tie.

I would like to see LSA adopt a "No parent tournament",one weekend out of the year. It's done on the east coast with tremendous success. The kids have a blast and the refs have only the game to deal with, no unruly soccer "ignorant" parents.
