The tournament committee will be sending the tournament brackets out by December 13. The committee strives to balance the brackets. The more scores we can obtain the better the balance we can achieve. The following teams are entered: Archbishop Rummel Baton Rouge Caddo Magnet Catholic Central Lafourche Covington Fontainebleau Ben Franklin Hahnville Holy Cross Jesuit Mandeville Saint Paul St. Thomas Aquinas University Vandebilt Catholic
The dates are December 27-29. Bracket games and semi-finals will be held Friday and Saturday; the final will be Sunday afternoon.

Looks like 8 teams from the just-released Coaches Top 13 in D-1; 2 of Top 4 in D-2, and 2 of Top 5 in D-3. Should be a nice mix. Will there be 4 brackets of 4 teams, with winners advancing? Tonight's score according to nola.com = BF 3. Font. 0. Good luck to St. Paul's. We'll be ready for you on Jan 7 and 31, and if we meet in your tournament.

Any way to set up a vandebilt vs. central lafouche match at the tournament? wilson vs. Picou/Menard. Worth the admission price. Those 2 teams, plus Jesuit and Manderville should be the top 4 seeds, IMO.

The rankings from the latest coaches poll may have the teams bracketed as follows: (Slight Changes in snaking teams by ranking to avoid teams in same district playing in bracket play)
#1 ------------ #2 -------------- #3 --------------- #4
Jesuit ------- Vandy ---------- Hahnville -------- Mandeville
Catholic ----- C.Lafourche ---- B.Franklin ------- STA
University ---- BR ------------ St.Paul ---------- Rummel
Covington --- FountainB. -----Holy Cross ------ Caddo

Under the above "possible" schedule, it is fun to speculate. Can Jesuit rip through what looks like an easy bracket, or will Covington trip them up. Jesuit has had two recent ties (after regulation time). Can Central Lafouche defeat Vandy again, now that Vandy is full strength? Prediction: Jesuit/Vandy rematch. Is Hahnville for real, or will the "real" STP or HC show up? Mandeville/Rummel looks like a good match. Both undefeated. Prediction: STP vs. Rummel. Final -- Jesuit/Rummel. Jesuit wins 3-1. We should know tomorrow the actual brackets.

The 20th Annual Saint Paul's Holiday Invitational tournament brackets have been finalized. They are in the mail. As a courtesy we prefer to give the coaches a chance to learn the brackets before the public. We will post them on this site toward the end of this week. While we don't have every team we wanted in the tournament--after all, it is an invitational and not every coach and team accepts the invite--we are pleased with the field. It should be exciting. I don't remember a boring tournament. The fields are in great shape as of this writing. Hopefully the weather will cooperate to enhance the quality of play for the players and fans. TEXT
