These questions are directed to those of you who are familiar with the bigger names in Louisiana, especially S. La. Having read the names on the ODP list (the '89 boys), do you think that the better players in this age group are represented here? Are there some obvious names missing, either because they couldn't make the tryouts or didn't want to? With the idea that ODP is supposed to bring together the state's top players, do you think the program is succeeding in doing that?

Louisiana ODP does not represent the top players. For some reason the concept is not working in this state.

No i know that the top players in the state dont do ODP b/c i have made teh state team as a field player and i play goalie. Our first year we lost every game and lost like 12-0. We have had some really good players but not by far the best players in the state. Last year was the best our team ever was.

Yes i do think the 90's are a lot better than the 89's. Last year they played them a couple of times and the 90's won by a lot. Also this year they played 7 v 7 and it wasn't pretty for the 89's. I think the reason for them being better is they have a lot more players trying out that are better than the 89's.

It's tough about the conflict with the sugar bowl but most of the rec players are normally cut by then. I think this has happened because they lost the first tryout as they didn't have the new director in on time. But most of the coaches will probably know now who have made the team or not. I would talk to the LSA to find out.
