Showcase has 12 of the Coaches top 10 in the 3 divisions. St. Pauls has 11.
St. Pauls has 1 champion, Showcase has 2.
Or is there really a difference??

But the key stat you're missing is that ST. Louis has a bunch of garbage teams.
St. Paul's has none. St. Paul's has
Archbishop Rummel Baton Rouge Caddo Magnet Catholic Central Lafourche Covington Fontainebleau Ben Franklin Hahnville Holy Cross Jesuit Mandeville Saint Paul St. Thomas Aquinas University Vandebilt Catholic
So 11/16 of the teams are in the top 10 of some division.
ST. Louis has 12 top 10 teams, but they have 36 teams, so only 33% of its teams are in the top 10. I'll admit that the two out of state teams would probably be in the top ten here, so let's make it 14/36 that are in the top 10.
ST PAULS is better because of that.
BUT then again, ST Louis has two really good divisions. If you were to take out the bad division, they'd have 14/24 teams in the top 10.
But this percentage is still below ST PAULS.
It breaks down like this . Over 60% of ST PAULS teams are in the top 10. Only about 55% at ST LOUIS after you subtract the really bad division are in the top 10.
ST PAULS had more history and prestige, but ST LOUIS has more noteriety now. IT ALSO brings in good teams from out of state.
ST PAULS is still a better tournament now, but if ST LOUIS keeps it up, in five years, they will have the better tournament.

St pauls has 2 champions. St louis has 3.
The only team st pauls doesn't have who won state last year was st martins, and st martins isnt any good this year, so it's not a big loss. i mean country day even beat st martins.

if st pauls want to remain the top tournament in louisiana, it better get a webpage like st louis and recruit out of state.
expand from 16 to 24 and then to 32.
then again, 16 is a lot of teams.

One thing I don't like about St. Paul's is the 4 different brackets. A couple of the brackets are stacked and some teams should advance, but don't. Maybe there should be a quarter final round or something. This is what is good about the Showcase. 3 of the top teams from each bracket + a wild card. And the 2 blue and orange (the good divisions) divisions make it less possible for somebody to get screwed over with a stacked bracket. Either way, both tournaments are great. The showcase brings in more college recruiters and out of state teams, which is a huge plus.

There's no question that LOUISIANA SHOWCASE OF SOCCER is THE BOMB! College scouts from all over come to it and it gets national media attention.

In my original post I was referring to there being 2 separate champions, orange division, and blue division.
The main difference I see is that the top team in each bracket has at least 2 "gimme" games in the St.Louis tourney - example Jesuit plays Barbe (0-7 to Hahnville), Catholic BR(lost to E.Ascention) and Pineville (0-5 to C.Lafourche) they won't even break a sweat before the semis. ---- Whereas at St.Pauls almost every game there is the potential of an upset.
Most brackets will have 1 competitive game, and after bracket play the semis and championships should be great.

I play for Oak Grove (MS). We are in the showcase and it should be a good game between us and acaidiana. I heard they were bad news. Maybe yall should invite more teams from Mississippi in the future. Invite Tupelo, Clinton or Northwest Rankin.
