Besides the Catholic League with Brother Martin and Jesuit backed by Holy Cross and De la salle, I believe the Northshore district which contains what could be three of the top ten teams in the state: Covington, Mandeville, and St. Paul is the toughest and will do the most damage this season.

Sorry guys, just look at the last 6 years in the playoff. District 3 has more teams in the semifinals than anyone. Including 5 different teams (Acadiana, Lafayette, Carencro and Barbe). This year, only the brackets will keep the Catholic district and District 3 from dominating the semifinals again. The 2 districts 2nd place team play each other in the first round. The two district champions play each other in the 3rd round. Otherwise, if these 4 teams were split evenly through the bracket, you would be looking at the same thing again this year. Acadiana is probably the best team in the state along with Jesuit, Lafayette High and Brother Martin are probably just behind. Take the northshore district with the bayou district (Hahnville and Central Lafourche) and you migh thave the next 8 best teams, they just have never stacked up against the other two districts and won't again this year. State champion will come out of the winner of the quarterfinal game between Acadiana and Jesuit.

although, I agree with you that district 3 and district 9 are the strongest, I don't think the winner of state will come from that quarterfinal match. I think whoever runs the bottom brackett will win state. I have seen Acadiana, Jesuit, Lafayette, and BM play. Jesuit is solid but not perfect. I watched them tie Acadiana, and play a fairly even game against Lafayette. Barring a breakdown with 15 minutes left in the first half and Jesuit and Lafayette tie 1-1. I think your semis will consist of: 5-1 vs. 9-1, and 5-3 vs. 3-2...... 5-1 and 5-3 will have walks to the semis with the exception of the 5-1 vs. 6-2 matchup in the quarters. It is ver possible that the Northshore district will have 2 teams in the semis before they ever play district 9 or 3......Anyway, to be the best, you have to beat the best. I think the winner of the 9-2 vs. 3-2 game will win state this year.
