Jesuit / Vandy (0-0) @ Vandy does this keep Jesuit #1 ??
#1 - Jesuit beat Acadiana in shoot out, tied Vandy - probably won't stay #1 unless they win St. Pauls Tourney
#2 - Acadiana - Only loss to Jesuit
#3 - Mandeville still unbeaten/untied
#4 - Brother Martin - 1 loss, to bad they didn't play in a LA tournament
#5 - Vandy - early loss to CL, will see what they do @ St.Pauls Tourney
#6 - CL - impressive wins over Vandy, Lafayette
#7 - Rummel (A lot of talent, haven't played anyone - will see what they have @ St.Pauls
tie for 8-11 - (Hahnville) -the only impressive win was 4-0 over St.TMore, (BenF.) - did win weak tournament, (Lafayette) will they turn it around??, (St. TMore) - made it to finals @ Sulfur Tourney.

Hahnville is way overrated. STM had to play with 10 players for the majority of the game. Hahnville is not as good as everyone makes them out to be.
Also, don't forget about the Showcase. That will decide who will really live up to their rankings.

Sprinkle a few North Louisiana teams in there, hey give them some credit. Byrd, Caddo Magnet, Captain Shreve. Where is the love?

North Louisiana teams will earn respect when they beat quality teams in the state. As of now, Cpt. Shreve is rumored to be the best team in their district and they lost in the Rebel Cup to a JV team. If it was a fluke or not, it still doesn't warrant respect. If Caddo wants respect they need to do well in the St. Paul's tourney.

Is it true that captain shreve is 10-1? With the only loss to Lafayette's JV squad?

atleast 10..but yes, their only loss was to Lafayette JV...they have outscored their opponents like a ton to a little...a lot has to do with them beating Evangel 17-1, which to me, shows little sportsmanship....that is just way too much..i would say 10 is plenty

17-0 is a REDICULOUS soccer score. Some states have a high school MERCY rule of 8-0. (and some tournaments).

LA should have a 8 goal rule too. What a waste of time to continue playing when the other team has already been demoralized.
It would also cut down on inflated stats. Some of these high school players get a good portion of their goals when they play bad teams and run up the score like Shreve did 17-0. Who cares if you got 5 goals in a game like that?

Normally I would agree that a 17-1 score is exagerrated and I do like the mercy rule. However, this was Evangel's very first game, and I am sure that their coach wanted to let them finish the game. Shreve played their starters only at the beginning of each half, and 12 different players scored, with only one scoring as many as 3. Evangel has a great player in Patrick Spears, and their team will be stronger once the football players are back from playing at the dome tomorrow night. The atmosphere in the stands at that game was friendly even as the score got up there with some great school spirit on the part of Evangel. They didn't seem bothered, or didn't show it if they were. You have got to admit that Evangel is one of the best at running up the score in football!

Wait, stands? People in the stands at a soccer game? In Louisiana? What the?

Yes, there were "people in the stands". Pretty cool, huh? There were students from both schools (not alot, but some) plus parents from both sides.
One other comment as to the Shreve stats that were in the Shreveport Times. Shreve players are currently at the top of the list because they are scoring goals, but also remember that they have played 11 games already vs. most other team's 5 or 6. The stats will no doubt even out a bit as the season progresses.
But to get back to the topic of the top 10, the North Louisiana teams will have to prove it on the field, as geography prohibits them from being seen by the coaches down South......so, wait and see........
