New Iberia Senior High lost to Sulphur in overtime 2-1. It was an excellent game with Sulphur getting a majority of the offensive chances. The game was kept close mainly by the Jackets' scrambling defense and some outstanding goaltending by Jeremy Labiche. Sulphur has a fine team and was clearly more skilled and experienced, but had trouble finishing. The game-winning goal came right at the end of overtime and resulted from extreme pressure in the box which led to a Tor dribbler going down and a penalty kick being whistled. The game was free of flagrant fouls and was played in a good spirit of sportsmanship. These two teams are developing a healthy rivalry with the last three games all going to overtime. Congratulations to the Tors for a hard-won victory.

its embarrassing to have to take nish to overtime. especially three times in a row. but that happens when defenses pack it in the six like nish does.

Yep, it happens when a smart coach uses his players in the best way and can get them to do it. Then has class to talk well of both teams.
