Did anybody notice that, in the rankings section, the 1st Coaches' Top Ten Poll is out?
Any opinions?

you can see how much of an effect some of the polls have had on the coaches' poll. the division I poll almost mimicks Genius POLLS' post from a few days ago. Division II and III are almost the same as the other people who post on here. Just you wait and see how off they are by year's end. They're really bad once they get away from the top 5, and just horrible with Division III. Division III's poll is a joke.

Polls are worthless that is all that there is to it. The only one that matters is the one after they pass out the Trophies and then you dont need that poll.

Our coach told us the main reason that the polls are even around is just to promote soccer. If the coaches didn't try to make a Top Ten Poll, then all that you would see in the paper about soccer is a little box score. Who cares if you disagree? You have your opinion just like they have theirs, but the main thing is that the polls give people a reason to talk about high school soccer.

i personally think the D3 poll is a joke! Especially the ones recieving extra votes. OCS one?? That had to have been their coach. Did anyone see their showing this season they havn't won a game yet! They lost to oachita in a 45 minute game they stink. There are better teams than that in D3. Loyola is good but they shouldn't be ranked that high. St. Fredrick has one that district every year for a long time. Although st. freds stinks they can still beat loyola. And hey who knows maybe crowville. i think coaches should give them a little more credit. MORE THAN OCS!! they do have talent but they also have new players who are poorly skilled. Same as any team in the state. Poorly skilled players are going to be there!COACHES TRY WATCHING A GAME EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. YOUR POLL STINKS!!

Personally, D3 is pretty messed up. I think St. Martin's is good, but third i doubt it. They lost to CD (in a game they dominated and were much better, but still they lost), so I think it is only fair to have them behind Country Day. And St. Charles is crap so they should be off of there. The top 2 are right. Newman, I don't know anything about, and no one will find out about them til the playoffs because they only play about 2 games a year. The rest i guess is right

Hey Coaches Stupid, maybe you should do your research before you post stupid stuff. Last year was the ONLY year that St. Fred's has won their district. In fact, last year was the only year that Loyola even lost a district game. A big part of that also has to do with the fact that a lot of OCS's good players(i.e. All-State sweeper) transfered to St. Fred's. Don't get me wrong, St. Fred's was a great team last year and deserved to win district, but that was their only district championship. So, Coaches Stupid, next time before you post, post what YOU KNOW and not what you THINK YOU KNOW.
- Loyola has 7 district championships - St. Fred's has 1 district championship

Who cares about how good your team was 5 years ago? It would be a lot more accurate to put them ahead of Loyola since they had a good team last year and won it. So you are saying they should put ESA in first place in District three Division three since they won like 5 district championships in a row 10 years ago? Your logic is dumb. The first poll is going to be based on how the teams looked at the end of last year mostly, because coaches don't know how they are going to do yet this year.

logic? I never said Loyola should or deserved to be ranked that high.. i was just getting the facts straight..St. Fred's one district one year; Loyola has won it every other year Loyola is good but they shouldn't be ranked that high. St. Fredrick has one that district every year for a long time. Although st. freds stinks they can still beat loyola.

So what are you complaining about then!? You obviously are complaining about the rankings on the coaches poll. And now you just are stating how Loyola has won a lot more district championships.

Coaches Poll #2 just released. Is there anyway to get the team's records included on the board? I think both St Pauls and Central Lafouche have 3 losses. Covington has 1 loss, and a tie with #4 Hahnville. Covington should be ranked higher.

All of Hahnville's games during the beginning of the season were played with at least 3 or 4 starters out. The game against Covington, Hahnville was missing 5 starters. HHS is and should be higher than Covington.

I bet Covington was missing some players too. It really doesn't matter. They are two teams that have talent and coaching. Look for both to be successful.

They only have like 3 senior starters. I wonder if their team can handle the big boys.TEXT
