The qoute below came from www.rickspringfield.net/new/katrina.htm#normh
While the Ronald McDonald House of New Orleans has been destroyed by high winds and the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is grateful that the families staying at the House were safely evacuated and that RMHC Chapters around the world are coming together to provide a safe haven and assistance to the families of pediatric patients impacted by the disaster. Help from RMHC extends to the scores of families from across the Gulf Coast whose homes and hospitals are gone and whose children need ongoing medical care....... (to see full article go to www.ronaldmcdonaldhouse.com ).
Many Ronald McDonald Houses work with local recycling centers to receive money for collecting tabs from aluminum cans - including those from soda cans, vegetable and soup cans, and pet food cans. The Rick Springfield Southern Shock Street Team will be sponsoring a "Pop Tab Collection Drive" for RMH. This drive will take place starting immediately and will continue until Thanksgiving, 11/24/05. Please enlist the help of friends, family, and co-workers. Encourage them to "pop" the tabs off of aluminum cans and save them for this cause.
If you would like to participate in this project, please contact either Sue or Christa for the address to ship the tabs to. You can send them all at once or in smaller batches, anyway you want to do it is fine. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us.
