Can anyone clarify Lhsa's rule on High School coaches coaching their teams out of season! Rumor is there are coaches running their teams in Rec leagues.

Currently it is my understanding that LHSAA prohibits faculty coaches from being the head coach of a rec team made up of 50% or more of their HS players. CECP(non-faculty) coaches have a little more leeway, but still cant be considered the "Head coach" for rec teams. Seems to be a bit of a foolish rule, but it is there to keep coaches from recruiting players to their respective HS from others.
As far as the enforcement of the rule, LHSAA is really lenient, as trying to hunt down every CECP coach who has a rec team is virtually impossible. Also, as long as a rec roster is turned into the Louisiana Soccer Association with a different person listed as a head coach, then it really makes it difficult for LHSAA to be the "soccer police" as far as tracking down "offenders"--it seems that they have taken a dont ask dont tell approach to the issue. Non faculty head coaches have been involved in rec team training for years, and I have never heard of a single issue of ineligibility being declared because of a coaches involvement with his team in the off season--its just so hard to prove.
As for the BRSA 7 v 7 league, there are many of the HS coaches out there with their teams. A representative of BRSA contacted LHSAA to see what ramifications this would have, and BRSA wsa informed that "since 7 v 7 was a non-traditional format, LHSAA would not have a problem with HS coaches involving themselves with these teams."
Is there a specific reason for your interest in this matter?
