Is anyone taking note of the performance that the US U-20 men's team is putting on in The Netherlands at the FIFA World Youth Championships? They drew the toughest bracket in the tournament but yet are tied for first place in points. They shocked Argentina (and the rest of the world) with a 1 - 0 win, then went on to tie Germany. Next up is Egypt this Saturday. I think Fox Sports is broadcasting the match.

Update... with USA's win over Egypt and Argentina's win against Germany this past Saturday, the USA wins the bracket and plays Italy next in the round of 16. This USA U-20 team features Freddy Adu and Lee Nguyen - the high-school phenom out of Richardson, Texas. It's encouraging to see such a strong group preparing to eventually replace retiring players from the world's # 10 US Men's National Team.

i've been following it as well and they've been very impressive. the win over argentina really set the tone for them as argentina was favored to win the tournament. the scoreless tie against germany and the 1-0 win over egypt have the US without a goal scored against them this tournament. I think brazil was the only other team to have done that but they lost to mexico recently in qualifiers. the game is set for tuesday, and the winner will play on friday against japan/morocco.

us lost today 3-1 to italy...the us led 1-0 at half but fell short due mostly to a great performance by one of italy's forwards, someone pelle.
