Pomoey get a big point at Arsenal. That is the game they needed a result, and they got it. Birmingham will start getting pounded again, and pompey will be out in 3 games. If harry makes some good signings in te summer they could be dangerous because they are playing stellar at the moment.

Firstly, i'm getting excited as 10:00 is 'round the corner and the Pompey game's on. Massive point for the team today and even I was worried that they may not pick anything up in this game. Lua Lua gettin taken off is a major low as they could've gone on to win it, he's always a threat. Secondly, who cares about relegation? What'd you do after Chelsea won the league last year with about 10 games to go, just stop watching? The top half has some excitement now that Man U are back in it, but last year the relegation battle was more exciting and went down to the last day. I think that's much more interesting then watching Chelsea not care about their last 10 games because they don't need to.

Forget Portsmouth getting a draw with Arsenal, how about that relegation battle in Romania. You know between those well known teams? You know who they are, right?

yes i hope chelsea lose every game so man u can win it. because as much as i like the players on chelsea's team i just hate chelsea because they got boring for me. man u i would love to see get the title from chelsea because man u would have worked alot more harder than chelsea did and i think it will be the biggest upset in prem history. but i think if liverpool play a tad better next year than they did this year i think liverpool can win it. and i dont want gerrard to go to juve for 50 million becaus that would be a massive blow.

Hey this is about relagation, Deridder!
As for other end of the table........Think Chelsea get it this season, but next year will be so much more exciting. Interesting to see how Ballack will adjust.

sorry someone was talking about the top on here so i had to put something of my opinion. what i dont like about chelsea is now they have a star quality player coming which star quality play has to sit out on the bench.

Another 3 point for Pompey against an in-form Middlesbrough. Haven't seen the game yet, hopefully they didn't win just because Middlesbrough didn't have a full strength squad out. But, no points for West Brom is a lot and I really hope Villa can give it to Birmingham to give Pompey a nice point cushion.

It should be noted is the job WIGAN did to avoid relegation.
Before the season, almost all prognosticators had Wigan being relegated at the end of this season.
I thought West Brom would squeak by like they did last year, but this year, they seem to be going down.
Welcome Reading to the mix, and now Sheffield United.

Thinking Portsmouth were a touch lucky to be playing Boro in a time span where they have FAC and UEFA semis looming. Schwarzer and Southgate did not play, but Yakubu made another return to his old stomping ground. My Dad travelled to the game and said the atmosphere alone aided Pompey and overal were deserving of the win, and Boro only came alive after the goal. Plus, think they had more important games on their mind....understandably. If I'm a Boro midfielder about to launch into a crunching tackle, I've got semi finals raging in my mind.
Agreed on above post about Wigan, fine season they have had.
Brum- Villa score will be interesting tomorrow.

here's one for you, as you mentioned both those teams. October 1980, Pompey are in Division 4, Liverpool are reigning champions of Europe. It is the league cup 3rd round and a Tuesday night. Pompey take 13,000 to Anfield, end up losing 4-1, but was known as the night they outsung the Kop. Tickertape reception and all. Al lthe more amazing, nearly went out of business in 1977.
I went to a ton of home games between 1980-1987 and saw them come fourth place TWO years in a row in old second division, one time on goal difference with Man City, Brum and Newcastle...Kevin Keegan and all. Still, always had such a loyal following. My father lives in Scotland and still makes quite a few pilgrimages every season.
The stories go on, but considering have not won the FAC since 1939 or league champs since 1950, amazing to see such loyal fans. Did win Div II in 1997 to get promotion and did play L/pool in FAC semis in 92, but otherwise scarce times. Though, seeing the Scummers (Southampton) one division below and struggling is lovely.

I think they main reasons Pompey are squeezing tough results out against Boro and Arsenal is due to the fans. They've really got behind the team and give 'em that extra drive I think. I love how whenever they get scored on, the fans never let you know it, I think that's brilliant. Villa did the job against Birmingham which I was sweating over, major dent to Birmingham I think this was one of their easier games. Pompey are stayin' up!

Ive said it before and I will say it agiain. Pompey will be dangerous next season if they get a few good signings as long as Harry is in charge. It seems like they have a bit of money to bring in some more good players, but if not, what they have now is certainly looking good, especially up top.

yea. i went to the worthington cup final when liverpool won 2-0 against united a couple years back and when we scored i could not hear a thing but it was the most amazing feeling because liverpool fans sing and sing and sing. nearly every team in england has amazing fans. the first game i watched in a stadium was cambridge united vs oldham athletic at cambridge. just amazing feeling

I wish I knew that feeling, but the closest I ever came was watching the Liverpool Chelsea Euro Semi Final last year in the second leg. After the game I sat with goosebumps (partly cause we were in the fricking euro cup fianl) as the not just the Kop, but the whole stadium belted out one of the loudest renditions of You'll Never Walk Alone ive ever heard, as the camera circled around the stadium for about 5 minutes after the game. I still get goosebumps even thinking about it. You are def right about English fans. They are superb. Like in the Villa-Birmingham derby today, villas fans were going nuts when the scored although the game really didnt mean much of anything. It's just the shear pride they feel in their club, which is somethng you never see in the States im sad to say.
