I agree with playing in high school. I only played club one year because usually I didn't have the money. I also played high school out of Natchitoches Central so think of that what you will. I never even made all district because my coach was lazy. Now I play for Florida Southern which is usually in the top 50 of D 2. This year we have 11 freshmen and play in the toughest conference in D2. Point being if you can play, just contact some coaches and if you are good you'll find something. If not just take the meg that you'll get and be a man. Either work harder or get used to it. Don't take others down just becasue you are too unmotivated to get better. If you want to look up colleges look at soccerinfo.com and click on the scoreboard. It is vevry useful. I think that LA has a lot of talent that goes undiscovered becasue we don't know how to go about finding a school. You have to get people interested. Just playing will only attract so many coaches.

highschool soccer is a great experience. I have played both premier and highschool. I just got a cast off (shattered my are) that i recieved during a premier tourney this past fall. I never once had recieved any type of serious injury in highschool, yea maybe a bruise here and there. I would prefer one of those any day to a broke arm. but club soccer, is in no doubt, better skilled players, but there is no heart because the coach can only make them run for punishment, at school the coach can do a whole lot more than that. Its also the fact that we can change from club team to team from year to year. In highschool you have to sit out a year and noone wants to do that. Both are a great experience, but a player can get just as injured in one as the other. I now play for a college team and notice that most of the players were either the elite of rec or did play premier, but all of them had some highschool experience under their belt.

It is impossible for high school soccer to become even comparable to club soccer because of not only skill but with each individuals' knowledge of the game. Tactically, high school isnt close to club and the speed and decision making in high school is also inadequate. I play high school but my love is with club and ODP.
