Its Henry v Ronaldinho
The Arsenal youngsters will look to Henry to perform in his home town. However, I think we may see Arsenal play 2 up front. This will keep the Barça defenders occupied, and will free up Henry a little bit to escape the man marking of Puyol. However, Deco, Van Bommel and Iniesta (and maybe Xavi, who is back in first team training) are not exactly the best at tracking back. Perhaps Arsenal will look to runs from the midfield. Maybe Freddie will finally discover his goalscoring touch. Also, Eboue will be key for Arsenal. Imagine if he was playing right back for Milan against Van Bronckhorst - instead of a defensive Jaap Stam and an unfit Cafu.
On the other side, Paris is also Ronaldinho's first European town. Even though he still showed moments of magic in France, he was never really seen as an indispensable member of their squad. Perhaps he has a point to prove. Messi could come back, and so could Ashley Cole. That would be a match up to watch. Eto'o pace will not trouble Toure as much as it did Costacurta, thats for sure. Senderos is the slowest of Arsenal centre backs, so perhaps he will miss out. If Eboue does attack, Ronaldinho will be left alone - literally - and that would be suicidal. Gilberto will have to have a world class game, of which he is very capable.
Its a great match up. The final everyone in Europe wanted to see, apart from Spurs fans of course. One last deciding factor is that Arsenal are going for wins in their league matches, and will be using a little bit more energy. Barcelona are clear enough to be caught I think; however, as their last league game against Sevilla was abandoned, when will they make this up?

good points. gio van bronkhurst so he prolby knows how henry works and how the team is but he was there when marc overmars was so it was some time ago. he is not that bad of a defender but anything can happen you should know this because of last year so its anybodys game.

... good one. that wont happen again, EVER. taht was something only liverpool could pull off. Closer game than I expected with Arsenal and esp Henry's recent form, as well as Messi being questionable for the final. Im changing my prediction to 2 - 1 Barca. Goals from Ronnie, and Giuly, and Henry for the gunners. I CANT WAIT.

I tell you, we in america have now been fortunate enough to watch the last 12 or so Champions League Finals on ESPN.
I have watched all of them, and last years match was a phenomenal game, but I still would not call it the greatest one that I have witnessed.
I would say the 99 Man U - Bayern Munich final will never be beaten.

I think last years was by far the best. It was classic Heart out on the field. The atmosphere was increadible.

manchester united won with a late goal by teddy sheringham and ole gunnar solsjkaer both scored in extra time which was 4 minutes. thats happened many times my friend but never has it happened by a 3 nil deficit and win the game in penalties, sure the manchester united game was an incredible win but being 3-0 down at the half and win it in penalties is much greater i think. And the champions league website put an article up of the top 5 comebacks in any competition and liverpool was no 1 on it. plus they came back from 3-0 down this year in the fa cup to luton town and won it 5-3 with 5 very late goals i know this has nothing to do with europe but liverpools good at comebacks

barca has the players with the big game experience. sure arsenal has some experienced veterans in henry, pires, ljungberg... but that arsenal back line has NEVER been in a game with this much importance on it in their lives. Barcelona has the more experienced world cup players and the best brazilian/player in the world. However the home advantage for Arsenal will help them because half of the team is french, but not enough to stop barca. Prediction... Barcelona - 3 Arsenal - 2 Messi, Eto'o, and Ronaldinho for Barca 2 for Henry for the gunners. Maybe not Messi? soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=367491&cc=5901

YEA i know tough blow dealt to Barca. I changed my prediction to 2-1 in another earlier post. That is not a good sign for Barca, but I hope Messi can atleast get better before the WC.

1-0 win for either team, pK. Defensive stalemate.
