hmm...
I clicked this post to read about LHS/CRO... im a bit shocked cro wins 2-1. I still never got nothing, no input about this game. All I got is 2 old men still stuck on high school, a upset off goalie, guy from comeaux running in saying stuff, and carencro defending their victory.
Please can we talk about the game. Ghandis lil summary wasn't enough for me. i need more details.

who you callin old, kid?
This game was REALLY not very fun to watch from a Lafayette perspective. Ghandi's post is probably about the best you'll get. Brent Broussard had a couple of nice goals. The first was a header off a really nice cross from Trevor Thomas. The second was of a through ball where he slipped behind the Lafayette d, beat Dhuet to the ball, fought off dhuet's check and slipped the ball past Ghandi. Good finish. A couple of minutes earlier, Broussard had a similar opportunity and Ghandi made a really nice save. All-around, both keepers played great. I think each team hit the crossbar. I can't really think of anything else that warants mentioning.
Did I pretty much repeat Ghandi's post?

man, man, man ya'll really love ganging up on me. but thats ok because if we where to look at patches over the last ten years i think the rams would have several more semi patches runner up patches and STATE CHAMP PATCHES than lafayette. keep it comin boys i love it!!! Let's go back 20 years and I bet Slidell is now in there as one of the best teams. History doesn't matter. If you want to compare, then compare on field games this year. Look at the last 5 years and Lafayette has more semi appearances, final appearances, and championships. It's all relative.

sorry, I had to respond above to the post. I figured this game would be iffy. Lafayette is coming off a big win. Cro is in a must win situation. Cro had all the advantages. I didn't see tha game, but I expect Cro played high pressure all game and Lafayette came out looking flat. They really had nothing to play for. THey locked up second, and we joke about being on the same side as Jesuit in the playoffs, but honestly....I think Lafayette was in a win/win situation. If they won this game, we wait a few more days to see about the district championship, which is nice, but nowhere near what Lafayette and Acadiana shoot for as the ultimate goal. If they lose, they know they will be #2 probably playing St. Amant or Byrd in the first round. I am sure people will see this as an excuse, but I think anyone who has been in a position that they have solidified there position in the next round, will not be going 150%. THey will try hard, but in this situation, I would bet money that Cro left it all out on the field and Lafayette could probably played another game, if that makes sense. But on a positive, we have solidifed some more spots in the play-offs. 3-1=Acadiana, 3-2=Lafayette. Congrats Cro on the big win. This should (if LHS doesn't come out flat against WG) put you in the playoffs. Good luck agains the "DISTRICT CHAMPS". After your game tonight, you should be a 7-0 favorite, since you just beat the team that beat the DISTRICT CHAMPS 6-0.... How's that goat?

congrats to cro. ya'll deserve some credit. goat is right a big win over a very good team. looks like ya'll are in the playoffs! you know we haven't talked much about Bee24Bee but i have always considered him one of the best in this district. i am sure ghandi thinks so. good game and good luck in the playoffs.
sorry i wasn't here to help you out last night goat, but it looks like the odds were in your favor,(1 ram fan against 4 lafayette fans). Ms oldref doesn't like it when i play on the home computer and you are right i did go to bed long before all this started.

The goalie for LHS should be all district and had a great game, so did Foreman and the defenders. The center-mid on up is where there was a problem.
Anyone can have an off game that is why you should have a coach that can adjust (the LHS bench is how deep?). Now lets get something straight no starters sat the bench. The subs that did come in were the usual and played the usual 5-10 minutes.
The poor play by the offense made the nepotism of the Burn coach apparent. The poor substitution (benching?) of starters by the coach lost the game.
Now for another twist, Joey had a decent game.
Let the eruption begin.

wow burn that was pretty harsh. i do think one kid should get more time than he does, eric ellis. he seems to find the net a lot and doesn't play that much. pound for pound he is the strongest player on the team and i don't know of many people who can move him off the ball. i would find more time for him. not sure about the rest of your post, i wasn't there so i can't really say what befour should have done.

I am very skeptical when I see someone post that has less than 5 posts and they have the word "burn" somewhere in their screenname. Especially since there have been about 5 of them this year and they always seem to bad mouth the burn players that play for Lafayette and their coach. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

hdkjga seems you are skeptical of everything but don't disagree with the post.
oldref had a player that should have more playing time.
Are there any others?
Tell me where I when wrong on the post.
I don't hate the burn. I said and believe that Joey had a decent game and is one of the best in the state.

I wasn't at the game. The only player that I think should see more playing time is #50 in the defense. He is a sophmore and very intelligent, but the defense has stepped up lately and as a coach, the last position you want to sub at is your deense.
I think Ellis is a beast up top. He is very physical and will score a lot of goals that way, but I don't think he is as good as Menard and Carter yet. He will be though.
The reason I didn't disagree is becasue I wasn't there.d
I am not skepitcal of everything, I am just calling it as I see it. There have been 4 or 5 times that I have seen someone with a screenname that has burn in it and they only have between 1-5 posts. Almost every one of them has been a negative post about Lafayette. I personally don't care what other people think about LHS, but one of the "burn" screennames is the person who started the rumor that Lafayette was deliberately throwing district.

H. Logan played a lot last night(20-25 minutes maybe) he subbed in for Foreman at stopper a couple of times. Anyway, I think he might be a little too inexperienced to get a lot of PT in the playoffs. He looked a little tentative at times. I bet he'll see about the same minutes against the Gate tomorrow night.
As for Ellis... I think he's a bull. I don't know if forward is the spot for him, though. I'm curious to see if Belfour moves him to the midfield next season to help replace Joey and Will's physical presence. Maybe Foreman moves to midfield too and Logan moves to stopper.
