In my opinion, some teams are tough to beat because of tradition. They are a goal ahead before they step on the field. It doesn't mean that they are unbeatable, but I think that some teams have a great advantage.
Division I - Jesuit, Brother Martin, and Acadiana
Division II - possibly Vandebilt and STM (but not as much as the others)
Division III - Newman, St. Louis

I don't know if STM will have a good team this year. The younger players will have to step up because last year they lost 8 seniors and i have heard that 2 or 3 of their seniors won't play this year, including the captain Greg Verlander (he is taking college courses).

I think that STA should also be seriously considered for D3, especially if Lapira doesn't play...although he is overrated anyway. Now I don't want people yelling at me cause I said Lapira sucked or something, he is really good, I just think that he is overrated. So anyway, I think it is between STA and STL, Newman lost too much last year, they only have one very good player(Arnold) and a couple of decent ones(Wood, Cole).

i think that he is a great player. stl's team wouldn't be any good without him. just about every play begins or ends w/ him touching the ball. he can shoot and distribute the ball bery well. If stl is to be good w/o him, jay honore must step upand not play such a passsive role. instead of passing the ball every touch he gets ... he needs to learn to control the game by possesing the ball.

Do not forget about them they have a very talented young group of kids that will shock the world. St. Martins has been in the playoffs every year they are as consistent as they come. Also they have the best coaching staff in the state. And as for lapaira he was completely shut down in the state finals stl was shutdown.

Didn't you get scored on? Your definition of "completely shut down" is obviously wrong.

I dont think that STA is going to win state. This may end up being the most balanced year in the state in a while. I really dont think its too clear right now.

If you were to watch the tape of last year's finals, you would see that Lapira was pretty ineffective. I do remember one nice move when he meged a defender from STM and drove towards the goal only to shank the shot. He was lucky he had a man running back post who got a gimme goal. But it was still a nice meg.

The topic was about: "Teams that step on the field a goal ahead before the game even begins". STA and St. Maritn's are very good teams, but I don't think that any teams fear them like Jesuit, Brother Martin, Acadiana, Newman, or St. Louis.
I remember a few years ago, I watched a team during the regular season that was more talented than Newman. But when the the two teams met in the playoffs Newman man handled the other team and they actually look beat before the whistle blew.
So my question is, do you agree with the teams that I mentioned and are there others that I missed?
