Rivers2 is correct NO GOALS on the field. Walked out there yesterday. If Rain stays away should be a fast track for both teams. the goal areas are slightly worn but not mudholes. The rest of the field looked good for this time of the year. Apparently it was well taken care of during the season. It will need to be relined, although the lines are still visible you don't want any bad calls because an AR couldn't tell if a ball was in or out or a foul occurred in/outside of the penalty area. May the BEST Team win & go on to win the State Championship.

MCA vs. BRHS should be a great game! It sounds like both teams are excited to play as well as it should be for the State semi-final match.
DO NOT CONTRIBUTE BOOSTING OR PREDICTIONS TO MT. CARMEL! If comments are being used to pshyic you up I understand. Use the feature that allows you to check the last ten posts of a contributer and you can see where those comments originated which will confirm my statement.
There are no weak teams in the quarter finals and certainly not in the semi-finals. To look past a team at this stage is asking for a ticket home. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS!

Well said! Be at the game tomorrow at 6 at Woodlawn. I will be there, if I am a ball-boy or a common spectator I do not know at this point. Let's just hope I don't have to chase balls around. I really want to watch the game.

On some earlier threads on this subject, I had commented that the goal posts at Woodlawn had been dismantled and removed. Pumas FC gave you an updated field condition report at Woodlawn on another thread. Well, the missing goals have been erected and all is well at Woodlawn..... field, goals and possibly the next Div. I champion will enjoy a splendid place to play tomorrow night.

There are no lines on the field, but I think that will be taken care of (by me). Don't tell anyone, I don't want anyone yelling at me if they are horrible.

I'll do an inspection on the lines tomorrow when I get there. They better be straight. It's a SEMI!!

Woodlawn's field is not much better than BRHS. Whoever had the idea to place rocks around it must be really smart.
The Ryan's part sounds good, but don't know if that's a good or bad reputation to have!

I don't recall any rocks around Woodlawn's field. Could you enlighten me on this subject. As far as the trench that in run along the sidelines used by the ARs, maybe you can ask the Center to have both of you flip-flop and run opposite from the norm for for him . Or maybe we could just resod that part of the field for this one game. I thought the most important part of the playing surface should be allotted to the players. Seems to me most of the fields I've had to play on have a similar problem. . But what do I know. Would anyone (player) from that district like to compare BRHS to Woodlawn's field. The player should certainly have a beeter feel for this.

Alright, I am your man since I have played on both fields and was personally involved in fixing up the pitch. At this point, I would rather play at BRHS, which is saying something. Usually, it is the reverse, but today it is different. The field is really hard and has tire tracks and stuff in the middle of the field. I have used a rake to break some of the clumpy parts of the field up, but it would take ages to break all of the clumps. A recommendation to the players would be to wear firm grounds. The lines are much better now. We (Max Irvine and I) lined the fields today, and although they are not perfect, they are pretty straight and able to be seen. Our circles look awesome. If I hear one complaint about them, I will personally... Anyway, see everyone at the game tonight, if you have any more questions about the field ask me. I will be the ball-boy; I don't know which side just yet. Also, everyone has to sit in the bleachers closest to the parking lot as of right now, it may be changed later.
BRHS field- no lights, horrible stands, ruts and sand on ground, sand pits on corners... WHS field- lights, much better stands, hard spots on ground that been partially broken,
Also, the rocks that used to be there are now gone, there is just dirt there as of now, but they are putting cement there real soon, which, if you ask me, is the most ridiculous thing that they can do. I played one game there this year and have fallen where the rocks are.

my apologies . I did not walk across to the center of the field as the javelin was being tossed around out there when I surveyed the field recently. Whoever decided to drive a vehicle across the field should be shot! It has put all the players in a position to be injured, I was hoping to see a nice clean game with lots of passing through the middle third of the pitch. I'm sure the new lines will be helpful. Good luck to both teams tonight

It is the people that they have working on another thing for WHS. They just decided to drive the dump truck right over the center of the soccer field leaving tracks. We tried really hard to break the clumps that we thought might be a hindrance.

4-0 MCA The game was closer than the score suggests. In the first half, most of the game was controlled by MCA, but was fairly even. Nothing mjor happens in the half other than an MCA goal in the 30th minute or so. 1-0 MCA @ half Second half, MCA came out strong once again playing with all of their subs and using the whole field to their advantage. Most of the half is controlled by MCA, but goals 2,3, and 4 do not start until the 72nd minute according to the Assistant Referee (I was close to him since I was ball-boy). One thing to say about BRHS is that they never gave up until the final whistle. But, it just so happens that MCA was the better team this year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- MCA had fast forwards and wings and a strong back line. Something a coach would want in any team. All across the field, MCA was strong. MCA mostly played balls out to the wings and brought them up the field to put into the middle of the penalty area, right around the PK spot. MCA is a good team and a young team, so this isn't just a one-year thing. Expect MCA to contend in the finals and also watch for MCA next year. They might be just as good, if not better nect year. BRHS had a spectacular year. I only wish it wouldn't have ended so soon. A well-coached team, with much skill, speed, and potential. I believe BRHS will be as good if not better next year also. I also want to say, that the keeper, Amy Lester, had a great game and kept them in it until the 72nd minute. So close was MCA to blowing it open early, but she kept them in check. Also, Sarah Benson kept the girls in the game saving another goal. She is a great player which differs from a good player in the way that when she steps on the pitch, everyone on her side plays better. There are lots of good players, but very few great players that can make people play better. Since I don't want to make this post extremely long and don't want to leave anyone out since they all played so well, BRHS is a contender and no one should be ashamed of their (tied for) third place finish.
Congrats to MCA, I hope all of them had a safe ride home, and good luck in the finals next week.

Mandy dominated slightly the first 10 minutes or so, after that Lafayette settled down, it was pretty even or Lafayette dominate after that. Both teams during the match banged a shot off the goal frame, but bottom line, the Lady Lions were the better team tonight. After the first goal, a few Mandy players could be observed to go into panic mode (playing outside their game plan and rushing things), which fed into Lafayette's superior defense. Good season Skippers, you should be proud.

The above post is accurate. The Skippers played a very good game and had two or three excellent shots on goal. This game could have gone either way but LHS played a more consistant game and their defense was outstanding. The fans were vocal on both sides but well behaved and the game was a great one. Congratulations to the Lady Skippers on a great season. Good LUCK to the Lady Lions against MCA.

Good game, good crowd, good food, good weather and a good win for the Lady Lions against a quality team. LHS defense was the difference as it is in most games. They have not been scored on in the entire playoffs as they go in to the finals.
