That was probably the worst written article ever. Their stats aren't straight at all and there is no opinion from a BRH player or coach. Also, it is the AR's call (linesman) as if it is a goal or not. I know this since I am a referee. The reason this is so, is because the center can't see across the goal line, only the AR can. That's why AR's call balls in and out because the center ref is not on the line to see it. And like thewhitefob said, barely any of the names were correct and stats were wrong.

If you want to see a well written article go the BR Advocate link and see write-up on LHS/St. Joes. It's the best I've ever seen for a girls hs soccer match and it was only the quarter finals.

You're right, of course, but as a center referee doing a high school playoff match, you know you are going to have a pretty reliable AR and that USUALLY you will take what the AR relays to you. If I am in the center, and the AR has a better view than me, I will always accept his decision if I can trust him/her. You are right, though. I just wanted to say that is usually the AR's call and that the center looks to him/her for it. Where do you ref anyway? Who is your assignor?
Anyway, back on topic. Is there a link to the last article? I am too lazy to look.
