Who will be leaving the ranks of High School this year and how will it effect the districts next year? How many returning players will you have?

In North Louisiana, Magnet will lose a group of seniors, Julia Vaughan, Beverly Chauffe, Elizabeth Dockinson, and i cannot remember who else. But they have a strong group of underclassmen. I don't think their game will be hurt. Byrd loses forward Martha Tingle, goalie Caitlin Crawford, midfielder's Rebecca Ford, Anna Johnson, Lauren Petittite, and more. They have good underclassmen, but I think Magnet will resume the title of District Champions. Shreve loses Amy Norgard and their sweeper, and possibly more. I think they will be third in district. Loyola loses goalie Elizabeth Sooby, Defenders Lauren Hightower, Jenny Chaisson, and Anne Marie Wathen, Stopper Amanda Krebs, Midfielders Sarah Gilster, Erin Moeller, & Jessie Cassidy, Forward Concetta King, returning four-five starters, sweeper Lauren Cheaney, defender Alex Deal, Midfielder Candy Cockerell, and Forwards Amanda Ballistrella and Jordan Smith.

The Division II state finalists, SSA and Sacred Heart, will take big hits at graduation. Sacred Heart loses 10 seniors, most of whom are excellent players. They showed their prowess in Saturday's 1-0 victory in state final match.
SSA loses six four-year starters--Jenny Williams (GK), Jennifer Davis (Def), Kasey Crawford (Mid), Ann Baldwin(Def), Meghan Tennyson(For), Maggie Kennedy (Mid). Kristen Kennedy (For), another senior, played well this season. This group has 3 district championships, 2 state final appearances, 1 quarter final and 1 semi-final. Great years for SSA soccer, establishing the Doves as a top shelf program.
Very nice group of 8th graders in the program for Terry Morris. With solid 9th grade group, the Doves could be back strong in a couple of years.

Barbe loses at least 4 staters including their sweeper and keeper. Comeaux loses 5 staters and their coach to STM.

Neville is losing one senior that started about half the games in midfield. This year really had 6 freshman, 3 soph, 2 juniors playing the games -looking forward to the next 2-3 years.

ASH loses forward Heather Sherill and keeper Annie McNeal. Heather was an excellent player, but we are stacked deep at forward. Loss of the keeper will be a severe problem. ASH played many juniors and sophomores, so the next couple of years should hopefully pan out for us.

A fond but sad farewell to Cora Dailey at Lafayette High. Although she was not a varsity starter, her dedication and support for her team and teammates was an inspiration to all. Her smiling face will be greatly missed. Best wishes for your future, Cora!
