Congrats to Ouachita Christian boys AND Girls programs, and East Ascensions Girls program for receiving a NSCAA/adidas High School team academic award.
A total of 257 high school soccer teams (134 boys, 223 girls) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2004-05 academic year. Among these programs are 41 schools receiving honors for both their boys and girls teams. To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player’s GPA, then dividing by the number of players. Great job by head coach Bruce Deaton at Ouachita Christian, and Chris Goodall at East Ascension to mix quality academics with quality athletics.

Thank you Coach Plus, have to show off girls even more...... it is second year in a row! I'm sure other schools were also qualified, but were unaware of such awards. Soccer kids=smart kids. Chris

Don't forget Lisa Levermann's girl at C.E. Byrd in Shreveport and Sean Esker's girls in Mandeville. Those teams were also honored with the award. Great job all around to everyone!

Who do you contact if you have a team that qualifies for the honor? I will let the coach know about this. Thanks

Very nice news for all that meet the requirements! The award speaks towards the schools, parents, but mostly the players. When you want something done give it to a busy person! Just one of the reasons to have your children in sports, playing a musical instrument, etc. etc.
