First let me state that this is not to spark debate but I am sure it will.
I have seen some comments on the board concerning the talent level of the New Orleans schools. Let me say that I think that the New Orleans schools don't necessarily have better talent, but well-established programs in and out of high school.
The Northshore and New Orleans were the first areas to have high school teams (long ago), then it picked up in Central Louisiana and Southwest Louisiana, and finally it spread to North Louisiana and it is still growing up there.
This is why I think that New Orleans area teams (including Northshore) are so dominant. They have had time to develop their programs and local programs responded. Programs like SYSA, Northlake(debunk), NOSA, and Lafrineire all grew in numbers when the interest in girl's soccer exploded in the early 90s.
The northern teams are rapidly establishing themselves and in no time I think that the areas will be even in talent and experience.
