Question for those folks that know how many teams are in each district. What are the chances Captain Shreve will get in as a 5th place team with a 5-7 district record? From what I understand, all the 4th and 5th place teams will be listed in order of their district record. Not all the 4th and then all the 5th place teams.

District 7 wildcard will be HL Bourgeois
Order of completion with one game remaining for all. Remaining games should not affect standings.
1 Terrebonne 2 Central Lafourche 3 South Lafourche 4 HL Bourgeois 5 Ellender 6 South Terrebonne 7 Thibodaux

Fifth place team from District 5 will be Slidell with a district record of 4-8.
Fifth place team from District 8 will be Higgins with no district wins (0-8). Also probably worth noting that fourth place team (Bonnabel) will be 2-6, which is also a lower winning percentage than 5-7.
Hope that helps you try to sort things out, ShreveDad.

I may be wrong but I believe the fourth place teams will make it to the playoffs if Their paperwork is turned in on time ahead of 5th place teams regardless of district records.

In district 3 New Iberia is the 5th seed with a 6-8 record which may get them a wild card.

WM plays OPHS Friday night. If WM wins, they will play Ruston on Monday to determine 1st - 2nd place in district 2.
District 2 will be decided Friday at the earliest, and possibly on Monday night if WM can win the match vs OPHS.

I read on the boards that Northshore and Slidell make up the #3 & #4, but then that Slidell is #5 contender. Is Covington out now?

Technically, Northshore and Covington are tied for #3 right now with 5-6 district records. Northshore has lost twice to Fontainebleau, twice to Mandeville, once to Covington, and once to Slidell. Covington has lost twice to Mandeville, once to Fontainebleau, once to Hammond, once to Ponchatoula, and once to Northshore. The difference will come on Friday when Northshore plays Hammond and Covington plays Fontainebleau. Slidell is finished district play at 4-8.

What are the 5th place records of those teams that have that many teams in there district? Woodlawn's Div I record would be 4-8 (they only had 210 players healthy enough to finish season so not sure they will even send in record to LSHAA.

District 1 Results - Magnet is #1 seed by way of 2 wins over Byrd. Natch. Central will be #3 seed by way of 2 wins over Airline. Shreves record is 5-7 which is looking like it may be enough to get one of the wildcards.

Not a bad run at guessing the playoff brackets. However, it is worth pointing out that the LHSAA does not say that all fourth place teams are placed as wildcards and then fifth place teams. All fourth and fifth place teams that report their district, division, and overall records and ranked first in order of district winning percentage. If a tie exists after that, then the tie is broken with winning percentage within Division I. If a tie exists after that, then the tie is broken with overall record. Therefore, it is possible that more than one fifth place team will qualify and that a couple of fourth place teams (like Bonnabel, with a 2-6 district record for a 25% winning percentage) will stay home in favor of fifth place teams like Captain Shreve (5-7) or Slidell (4-8) with better district winning percentages.
