I would put St. Louis 5th in division one with wins over current 5th place team Barbe, # 6 Caddo Magnet, # 9 Lafayette and # 10 Acadiana. Also had close 1-0 losses to Stm and Mt. Carmel

Same might be deduced from SSA beating Mt Carmel and losing to STM and FHS; as such, would be ranked #3

First of all Merry Xmas to all. I understand why FHS should be ranked ahead of SSA after beating them in OT last week. But what did they do to deserve to be ranked ahead of Mt. Carmel (or if you prefer, what did Mt. Carmel do lately to deserve to get bypassed by FHS)??. FHS has stayed away from any good tournaments, they have only beaten 2 quality opponents (needed OT to beat both), and lost to Dominican. On the other hand, MCA wat at the St. Martin tournament, they are going to the Lafayette tournament and they have played and beaten some quality opponents, 3 in a row lately against Dominican, Lafayette and Sacred Heart. This one more time proves that if a school in not on the 'inside' with the voters they are out of luck with the so called 'experts'. Let's at least call it what it is, 'who you know top 10', 'who likes who top 10', or the 'unofficial Top 10'.

Fontainebleau has 68pts, Mt Carmel 67pts....I'd say that is close enough to accurate. I for one put Mt. Carmel 2nd and Fontainebleau 3rd. This poll is just that...a poll. It is not fact, it does not determine playoff brackets, or tell you who will beat who come playoff time. We do the best we can given the information we see. We are not paid, professional LAPrep voters. If you aren't happy with it, you can have 3x my salary...oh wait that's still nothing.

You can keep your salary copakid14. I think you have it right and you are also right that this is just a poll...in that case let's call it what it is, 'LAPrep Official Top 10 Poll'.

Agree with both neutral and foreverred. Copakid14 got it right on 1-2-3, unlike the rest of the highly paid pollsters

This one more time proves that if a school in not on the 'inside' with the voters they are out of luck with the so called 'experts'. Let's at least call it what it is, 'who you know top 10', 'who likes who top 10', or the 'unofficial Top 10'. You know, post like this really ticks me off. I think at least 3 times in the last 2 months I have sent out requests, better yet begging, for people to get involved in the voting process. We had 8 voters this past weekend and I don't remember getting one from you "neutral". I can promise you I don't vote by: 1) Who you know? I couldn't tell you the name of either coach at FHS or Mt Carmel this year. 2) Who likes who??? I can promise you I have ticked off most people with my UNBIASED soccer reporting. 3) Unofficial Top 10?? The voting was very even, FHS had 4-2nd place votes and 4-3rd place votes and MCA had 4-2nd place votes and 3-3rd place votes and 1-4th place vote. It is simple, send me your vote by 6 pm each Sunday and it will be included. If not, please send in your valid reasons why a team should be ranked where (which you did, and I appreciate that) but don't question the voting process unless you are willing to cross over to the dark side and have people question your voting habits!

First, this is neither a complaint or criticism. I know almost nothing about the girls side of HS Soccer. In fact it may be closer to nothing rather than almost nothing. But I am curious about one thing in D2. Cabrini has no record posted and their website has no info. How/why are they rated so high? Same for Deridder. I really don't know anything about them so I am making no case for a higher or lower ranking. I was only curious and wondering how the pollsters put them where they do.

futbol is life, If you go to the tread, Coach Ray's Girls 2007-08, you can go to page 1 and see the games in which Deridder has played and the scores. I don;t see anything for Cabrini. This may help some to understand what the voters know about those teams.

I had done that for Cabrini and found no info anywhere (as you also stated). I had noticed last second that Deridder seemed to be in the same boat and didn't look into that team. But my question is still the same about Cabrini. Again just morbid curiosity. I know enough to know D2 is weak. Are the pollsters going on past reputation? Does someone know something that is just not published? Just extremely curious.
