EA-2 SHHS- 0
It is going to be hard to win at EA...but it should be a great game. Two very competitive teams. Good Luck to both.

"OK....sockrdad...congratulations on the win. But...with ALL DUE DESPECT.....please do not declare SHHS "legit contenders"...and say, "they have risen to the top"....just yet. There is alot of soccer to be played still. I know that SHHS has represented S.W.LA, and most of all Moss Bluff very well so far....but...until you are within the ranks of STM(a state champion), Loyola(a perennial semi-finalist), Ben Franklin(a 2 time state champion), Parkway(semis twice in last 3 years...I know you won tonight), and EA(state semi- finalist D-1). .[/quote]
What happened last year or last 3 years does not make you a contender for this year. How you play this year makes you a contender.
"The only In Division II almost everyone makes the playoffs..." This happens in Division III also. I think all but 2 or 3 teams make the playoff bracket when they have it like they do this year. Last year it only took 4 games to win State Champ. This year LHSSA added another round of play and it will take 5 games.
"...they are all contenders. " Yes, I think any team that makes it to the Quarterfinals can be classified as legit contenders.
Sorry if I ruffled any feathers against your school. I was trying to encourage and congratulate a successful team effort by Sam Houston for this year's accomplishments.
P S I do not have a daughter playing on this team or any children going to this school.

EA 0 St. Amant 0 two times this year
FHS game was first regular season game and were trying a different defensive format...which as you might guess, did not work. Do not get me wrong, would still have lost to FHS anyway, but hopefully by not so large a margin. Individual scores are hard to judge a team. EA dropped a 1-2 loss to a great St Joes team and had more shots on goal, and it was STJ who had tied FHS 0-0, does that make us 1-goal potential losers to FHS? Not really, but you get my point.

Pompey I get your point, but when you haven't seen a team play any information is better than none. EA seems like a good team to go 0-0 with St. Amant.

Fri. 2/17: St. Scholastica 3, Ben Franklin 0 Half: 0-0 Franklin gave it all they had and stayed tied for about 50 minutes -- even had one quality shot that forced a good save from the SSA keeper. But in the end, SSA's superior depth, game experience (their ~25th game, BF's 8th) and conditioning won out. I bet most of their players are living in their own houses, too. Congrats to SSA on a well-played game. And BF should be proud of making it this far given everything they had to overcome just to play this year.

2/17 Vandebilt 6 Ursuline 0 Ursuline and Vandebilt both came to play. The score was only 1-0 at the half. Ursuline played tough to the end. Megan Authement had three goals, Catherine Thompson had two goals, and Gina Domangue had one. Vandebilt's defense and midfield were on fire.

what was up w/ usrsuline.. i talked to a senior on the team at their game vs. salmen last wednesday and she said that their senior trip was planned for that weekend and their was a possibility their seniors would be no shows... based on the score i'm gonna say the seniors decided to attend their trip.. anyone know? if they did, that's a terrible way to end your prep careeer. i honestly thought ursuline would put up a fight after watching their game vs. salmen

LSUmike84 stated "usrsuline --senior trip was planned for that weekend and their was a possibility their seniors would be no shows... "
It was their senior retreat, and although they were running on lack of sleep, the seniors were back in time to play in the game.
Nicole H (#13 UA forward / top scorer) was moved to defense to try to match speed with Vandy's #14 Catherine T. Good match up first half, athough Catherine's size prevailed. This transition of Nicole left UA with little offense as seen in the first half of play. UA lacks a true goalie.
Second half, UA tried to get the offense going by moving virtually everyone forward, but that left them playing with little in the midfield. Vandebilt did a great job controlling the ball and the middle of the field. UA may have had a better chance playing their game, not Vandy's.

There are icy roads in North Louisiana this morning. I don't know how this will affect travel and gametime of the Neville game. Classes at many colleges and schools in the area have been closed due to poor conditions.
