Fri. 2/10 at Audubon Park:
Ursuline 9, Tara 0 Goals: Amy Selser 2, Nicole Horne 3, Brittany Johnson, Mallory Morphy, Christine Baudouin, Nina Horne
Tara showed up with only 11 players. One went down with an ankle injury 2 minutes in and they had to play the rest of the way with 10. Only 2-0 at half but then the roof fell in.

Congratulation to Tara for battling so well under tough circumstances and representing the the District as well as they did. tough playing short-handed like that.

Yes indeed, good job Tara.
EA 5 DeRidder 1. HT was 2-0, Lady Dragons get the last goal of the game off a DK from 35 yds out. EA had five different goalscorers, which was nice. Weather holding up was even nicer.
DeRidder were an extremely class act, the coaches, the parents/fans and all the players. EA got the sole yellow for the night.

Hats off to EA, they are a very good team. Great skills and ball handling, made each movement and pass count. Everyone we met was very nice. The fan support for EA was awesome. Seeing what was I assume the whole boys out supporting the girls as well as all the parents was something we don't see too much of in DeRidder Best of luck in the next round.

Glad weather held out for the EA game. EA has support from the players, parents etc. That makes a difference, it's good to hear the boys chearing for the girls. When will EA play next, they are home again so the support will help. What is in store for the next game?

Both are ranked very well, never seen Parkway, Sam Houston is very good they have some talented players and they have just gotten better during the season. I would give Sam Houston the edge I say 3 - 2 Now I'm curious as to who they will meet in the Quarterfinals, again like Parkway haven't heard much on Morgan CIty?

East Ascension 4 Morgan City 1 HT 2-0, then MC pull one back, shortly after EA gets their third and the fourth follows with 14 mins to go. Shot count 34-6 in EA's favor. Great job Lady Tigers, first playoff appearance was accompanied by some seriously hard-nosed and committed play.

Sam Houston over Parkway 2 - 1. The game went into second 5 minute overtime. About 1.5 miinutes in shot on goal and goalie dive for ball and it is just out of her reach and slow rolls into the goal. This was a terrific game. Parkway scores first. Sam Houston shoot and ball goes to forward that is offside. She shoots and puts it in goal but AR had already flagged her for offside. The game went back and forth from then on until Sam Houston finally ties score. Sam Houston actually kept the ball on their offensive side majority of the game. This game was probably the best game that I have seen Sam Houston play. If they continue with the intensity and ball movement of tonight they should be considered legit. contenders. After several years of being on the bottom of the soccer scales they have risen to the top. Congratulations on an excellent game. Parkway girls deserve a great pat on the back for the terrific game they played. This game could have easily gone either way. Sam Houston just came out the victors.

OK....sockrdad...congratulations on the win. But...with ALL DUE DESPECT.....please do not declare SHHS "legit contenders"...and say, "they have risen to the top"....just yet. There is alot of soccer to be played still. I know that SHHS has represented S.W.LA, and most of all Moss Bluff very well so far....but...until you are within the ranks of STM(a state champion), Loyola(a perennial semi-finalist), Ben Franklin(a 2 time state champion), Parkway(semis twice in last 3 years...I know you won tonight), and EA(state semi- finalist D-1).....you are not a contender just yet. However, call them contenders if you want. The only thing that matters is who holds the trophy at the end of the year. If you don't hold the trophy.....you are exactly what you said..."a contender." In Division II almost everyone makes the playoffs....they are all contenders. Hope y'all down in the 'Bluff prove me wrong. Best of luck next round.
