What are some of the more interesting matchups as we move into Round 2?

They all have their own storylines. lower seeds all have something to prove and are very capable of winning. ST. Joe's, St. Amant,Dominican,Chapelle,West Monroe,Mandeville, Destrhan and Barbe will probably be considered undersdogs but at least half of this group could advance. Barbe at home will be really tough and West Monroe has a chance to beat Byrd and give northeast La. some credability and the same is true for Destrehan. Except for Byrd and Acadiana, all favorites will be on the road. Should be an interesting week.

Should be at least one or two upsets ( well at least lower seeds winning) this round. Now is when teams that claim to be coming from more difficult District need to prove themselves. Looking forward to some great games this week. PLEASE give a game report along side of your teams score. Have to pull for D1-4 teams 1 favorite, 1 underdog, 1 slight favorite. ST Amant may have biggest hurdle to climb, and may have best chance of pulling upset in this round.

Here are my key 2nd round matchups: Lafayette St. Amant -at St. Amant St. Amant's small width field (extreme turtle back)could play to their advantage against Lafayette, yet I think Lafayette's depth will outweigh St. Amant in this one. Could be an interesting game, and could be the source of an upset at "The Pit".
Baton Rouge Mandeville -at Mandeville This one could also get very interesting. However, I feel BRHS's talent will prevail in the end, but this game could have some interesting excitement.
Destrehan Acadiana -at Acadiana Another interesting matchup. Is Destrehan for real? We will find out in this meeting. I still give the edge to Acadiana.
Here are the rest of my picks: Caddo Magnet St. Joseph's -at St. Joseph's
Fontainebleau - convincingly Dominican -at Dominican
Terrebonne Chapelle -at Chapelle
West Monroe Byrd -at Byrd
Mt. Carmel Barbe -at Barbe

West Monroe and Byrd have played twice this year. Both games ended 0-0. This game should be a good one.

Alleyball,
Thanks for the input. I will predict Terrebonne over Chapelle in a low scoring game, either 1-0 or 2-1.

"The Pit" can produce some strange happening. Best hope for a clear night. Can get slick if the fog rolls in early. They came to have an abondon graveyard behind the stadium.

I am intrigued by Acadiana vs. Destrehan. Does anybody really know how Destrehan plays? I am not from Lafayette area so any strenghths/weaknesses of Acadiana would be of interest as well
