Who do you guys think will win? I have been wanting some predicitons on this game but no one really has been talking about it. I have head some good things about Neville, but ASH is a very good team. They have some pretty good offensive players and defensive players, so who will win?

I predict an excellent game of soccer. Neville was #4 in the last poll, while ASH had fallen out of the top 10. Neville has some great scoring forwards, and ASH has several superb defenders, a senior laden midfield, and one othe state's top scorers. ASH has been somewhat inconsistant this year, but when they show up strong, they are hard to beat. I look for the Lady Trojans to give the Tigers a tough match, so come watch it. Don't forget to try Judy Miller's famous taco soup from the concession stand.

Assuming STM beats St. Michaels....Does ASH or Neville get past STM?

neville 3 ash 1. neville is just the overall better team. they have a top scoring forward along with another great forward. their midfield is pretty good and their defense does well. they also have a keeper that was on the freshman all state team last year. neville should have a little trouble but still come out on top

Should be a good game and glad the rain has gone East! Neville is still very young and learning - last year - with the luck of a great draw in the brackets - made it to the semis starting 6 freshman - this year only have 2 seniors on the roster - one been injured for the last 2 months and the other never plays. Start 8 soph & 3 Jrs and working on gaining experience for the next two years. ASH has a strong tradition of winning and good players, coaches & parents - both class programs with clean soccer - should be a great one - too bad the STM & St Michael's game is not closer or on Wednesday for us and ASH to go watch!
Also - I think Neville could play with St Michaels after talking to another team in their district we played last week and their coaches opinion. We lost to Acadiana 1-0 over the holidays playing not to our normal level. STM is a very talented team and one thing going for us if we win is that STM will have to travel to Monroe - we need all the help we can get!
Good Luck

We plan to take our team and watch this game. We haven't seen Neville play but we know the Coach, Brett Sanders, from Rec and I understand from Ouachita High parents they lost several of their players who moved to Neville so they could play high school soccer for him. Should be interesting.

Tigerdad- I thought that St. Micheal's didn't win a game at the Gator Cup?....Maybe your giving Baton Rouge too much credit.
or are you trying to down play your team? What's wrong with a 1-0 loss to Acadiana...no matter how you think you are playing? Just curious.

allstatebronco - I did not see that and we did not participate in that tournament - but you are correct. I pulled up the results form that tourney and they lost all 3 game to teams we beat. I guess the Bishop Sullivan/St Michaels name carries clout and we are still working on making a name for ourselves and trying to promote soccer north of I-10. Looking at my earlier comments - next year we will be fielding 8 juniors and 3 seniors and will be making plans to come to some of the south La tournaments to play some great soccer. I just hate having to travel so much to play but have to - 6 of the 8 teams in our district are in Shreveport - 100 miles away - and we played everyone twice in district so logged many miles on school nights. Our girls are starting to play in sync again and I hope we give anyone a great game and at the same time earn some respect for our soccer program and all the others up here.
Good Luck!

Having Seen both teams play, I can say that I would favor Neville in this game. I like the way Ash play but I do feel they can be inconsistent sometimes. Having seen Neville more than a few times, they have a very direct style which with the forwards that they have creates some havoc for most teams. Not to mention they have the Loomis kid who is like a nat on the ball , she can possess, can score, shoot and has the ability to change the flow of the game. To me the Lommis kid is the key, I have seen her in rec and ODP and she is something else. I saw Ash in tourney play and a few district games, so I am sure they can play with Neville, my question is can they score, if Ash can put the ball in the back of the net or atleast pressure Neville consistently to create chances then they will be able to win the game. However if Ash does not stimey the Neville midfield, and atleast slow down the Loomis kid then I can't see Ash winning this game. As to the St. Micheal team and Stm, I would venture to say STM is a better team, having seen both,STM and ST. Micheal, but you can never no with high school soccer anything is possible. That being said I have only seen St. Micheal in Shreveport at the start of the season , so I am sure they have improved. only thing that I would say in those games, they were beat athletically, not tatically, there tatics and overall skill were not bad, but interms of atleticism, they were beat consistently. To me thats how they lost all there games. hopefully they have improved
