Redemptorist has played Parkview, Sacred Heart and Pope John Paul. While Sacred Heart was impressive, I've got to give the nod to Parkview.
Very well rounded, great passing skills and a strong defense.

Wouln't count out CHNI just yet. In first match between two, St. Louis tied with less than a minute to play, won in shootout, second match in Lake Charles, St. Louis won on a direct kick just above the 18 after a very dubious call. Game is in N.I. and should be a good one. Really shows the strength of District 4.

Danielle Johnson is quite impressive and could be the difference. Sacred Heart has a crew of quality juniors and a good senior keeper after losing a slew of seniors off of last year's D2 champion. Newman is coming on strong with more playing time together. Would like to know more about St. Louis and Catholic N.I.

Chsni and stlouis come from a very competitive district with esa and teurlings. Level of play is intense and competitive. Would encourage anyone to attend the Chsni-st louis match at 6:30 monday night in new iberia at chsni. Of special note is an awesome looking soccer ball logo on the field done by the dads last night - it is a sight to see.

SH will win this Division because of the COACH, read my other comment in relation to this topic.
Coaching will seperate these teams, all the kids are pretty evenly matched. Good luck SH !

Beauzeau was right about the coaching. The Sacred Heart coach made adjustments throughout the game which the Parkview coach did not or could not respond to. It seemed at one point in their second half that Parkview went to 5 midfielders and Sacred Heart started to play over the top to take advantage of it.

Bungee,
You seem to be quite a "Monday morning quarterback". Sacred Heart was clearly the deeper and more balanced team but Parkview did an incredible job to get it to 1-1 with 20 minutes or so to play. Sure, they could have bunkered it in like every other division III team that has played Sacred Heart but give them and their coach credit for playing to win. Sacred Heart's coach obviously does a great job but give a little more credit to his 10 talented field players than his incredible "coaching adjustments". They are simply the most complete team in the state and I believe there are a dozen coaches who couldn't screw up their upcoming state title.

Sacred Heart will win the state championship for three reasons:
1. Experience- they have been in this spot before 2. Talent- they have depth, not one real star but several stars backed by several solid players
and most important
3. Their coach- he is an excellent coach and has been with this team for years, he knows when and where to adjust players and he is a great motivator.
Sacred Heart will win.

Wow.....district 10 in New Orleans is alot stronger than expected.
Newman beat St. Louis 3 - 2. Congrats to the Greenies on their win.
The final game between Newman and Sacred Heart should be a great game. To bad it's all the way in Lafayette.

well, maninthestands, but for Hurrican Katrina St. Louis Boys would be playing Tuerlings in NOLA. The championship showcase always creates these long distance district games.

I apologize to Vision if I seem myopic about Sacred Heart or for not giving credit where it is due, to the players instead of the coach. Years ago I was on the Dominican bandwagon, who won in spite of their coach, when they had that Brennan girl playing for them. I thought Parkview did very well and that Danielle Johnson is one of the best players in the state. My interest in watching Sacred Heart started last year when I saw them play several times in town. Their team last year was one of the best I have seen in my 12 years watching the sport. They also get a lot of press, so I was able to follow their progress this season as well. According to the paper, they lost 9 seniors to graduation, one to a pre-season knee injury and one or two to Katrina. So most of their starters this year, except for their sweeper that everyone talks about , were on the bench or on the junior varsity last year. That is why I think it is pretty amazing how well they play and how far they have come this year. This should have been a "rebuilding" year, as coaches like to say.

Sacred Heart has been impressive this year. Do you think they would be this impressive if they were still playing in Division II?

I'm thinking YES, however maybe last years team was slightly stronger. Seem to recall them tying with state 5A champs and beating 3A winners during the season last year.
