My daugher drove with a couple of friends from LSU to the game. All she said was it was a even game in the first half and that it was a great game to watch. She's a cheerleader not a player so she wasn't in to the details. Sorry.

My daughter and I went to the game as well, being fairly loyal New Orleans soccer fans. The first half was even on the score board but I thought Sacred Heart out chanced them , maybe 5-1. They missed a few good oppurtunities just wide and their 2 corner kicks in the first half were right on. Sacred Heart then dominated the second half as Parkview began to tire. I do not think Parkview subbed once, were as Sacred Heart rotated their midfield and back line with regularity and they move their sweeper up top to give their front players a break. Their first goal came off a set piece, which they seem pretty good on and which Parkview gave them way too many of. About two minutes later Parkview picked up a cleared ball about 45 yards out and kicked it down the field to no one in particular. The sweeper went to head it uncontested and flicked it over the her own keeper. So it was 1-1 although Parkview had been outshot 9-2 at this point. Sacred Heart seemed energized after the own goal, kept the ball in the Parkview half for the remainder of the game and probably should have had 4 more instead of 2. Their second goal was a switched ball from the right side to the left side and the outside mid hit a left footed shot into the corner. And the third goal was a ball played in to a striker who beat a Parkview player or two and drilled it past the keeper. Parkview had a 25 yard shot in the last five minutes by #15, but the game ws over by then. Parkview played hard and threw their bodies around but could not generate anything offensively. They had a few very good players but their supporting cast was not up to the task. Sacred Heart is not flashy at all, does not seem to look for any one particular player: but is very disciplined and solid all over. Keeper was not tested too much but caught everything cleanly and cleared it well. Their back line is very fast, steps to the ball well and is tough to beat. Their midfield is strong and gets up the field quickly and back defensively. And their two starters up front play well together. No one player stood out but the team is quite sound.

bungee, Please send a detailed report like this one after the finals. Not having a true stake in the game (Daughter plays elsewhere). I was rooting from a distance for Parkview to win. However since I was out of town I had to rely on this type of reporting to know what was going on, for all the semi-finals. Thank you. Earlier this year one of the Parkview parents made a similar comment about Parkview's depth and that next year will be something of a challenge, an underclassman may have to step up and fill some big shoes. I'm sure Parkview has someone waiting in the wings. Too bad they weren't around to spell this years seniors. This is always the shame of knockout round playoffs - someone has to lose. The Parkview girls went farther than a lot of other teams and should be proud of all they have accomplished this year. Let's hope for an exciting final this Friday.
