Terrebonne should make a serious run next year. With just one non-starting senior leaving, their top 14 players will be returning with 2 outstanding 9th graders joining the team. T-Bonne put 142 goals in this year and only gave up 17. Accept for a tournament shoot out loss to Tuerlings their losses were to three quality teams in Vandebilt(2), Mandeville and Fontainebleau. They will be starting a line up with 5 seasoned seniors and 3 seasoned juniors, and a probable all-state freshman. They too will remember their quarter final loss to Fontainebleau which many thought could have gone either way with a few breaks. Hopefully that is where the experience will come in to play next year.

Next year already??? First I would have to say watch out for Lafayette again. They lose a incredible senior class of 6 or 7 players but have a core group of talented girls returning and a decent coach (just kidding folks) she is an awesome coach. I would not be surprised to see them playing again next March.....
And my Barbe girls.... We also lose 3 starting seniors that will be hard to replace and a senior coming off the bench but..... Barbe is loaded on offense. The starting line up all through the playoffs and the state championship game we had 3 seniors, 1 junior, and 7 sophmores and 1 freshman first off the bench. Barbe scored 92 goals this year and we return players that scored 81 of them. Barbe will once again be a force to be deal with and should push Lafayette for the District title next year.

Central Lafourche will be decent. They gave barbe hell with a 4-2 loss and always compete with terrebonne... they are losing 2 seniors (i think)

Barbedad20 you're right on. Lafayette loses on 3 starters. They will be big shoes to fill but they should be okay. Returning starters are as follows: Forwards - 2 sophomores Midfielders - 3 juniors defenders - 2 juniors Goalkeeper - junior returning next year (didn't play this year) last years leading scorer as a freshman - scored Laffy goal against Mt. Carmel in championship game in 2005 ( outside midfielder) Freshman - #33 - turned game around against Fontainebleau - Starting outside mid (2nd fastest on the team) was out with the flu - scored a goal that game J.V. squad that went undefeated this year - consisting of 2 sophmores, 2 juniors, the rest freshman. District 3 will be tough next year and young.

Caddo Magnet should be strong next year as well. They are losing 8 seniors with 5 of those being starters, however they will be replaced by some very talented sophmores. Magnet's JV went 20-1 with 98 goals for and 4 against with their one loss coming to Byrd's Varsity 1-0 in the semi-final of a Varsity tournament. I expect them to be back in the semi's next year after losing a tough one to LHS this year.

Lafayette---should be excellent 1st or 2d in tough district Barbe---should be excellent 1st or 2d in tough district Mount Carmel---will have more seasoning...tough Fountainbeleu---they reload Mandeville---they reload like Fontainebleu
Probably NOT a surprise but four of these five will be in the semi's next year.

Mt. Carmel has great talent with a team full of premier players. The 2005 state champs were dished the bad card this year with Katrina. They had a month of practice with a very shortened schedule of 11 games compared to last year where they played over 30 games with 4 months of practice under their belts. I would not throw them out of the mix for next year, they will hold their own with the rest of the top teams.

I am perplexed bozo?? I usually agree with most of your posts but now I am confused. Do you have some personal vendetta against Mt Carmel or are you just not that impressed with them. We (Barbe) got them in the second round and at no time during the game would I have ever thought about them not being very good. They moved the ball around and for the most part controlled the game from the 50 to the 18. They also return one of the most dangerous forwards in the game in Ashley (sorry, forget her last name) that will be a senior next year. Barbe has faced some of the most dangerous girls in the state in the playoffs with Laf-Daniel Jordan, Jen Hopkins, Acadiana- Courtney Hoffland, and forward Ashley from Mt Carmel and I would put all 4 of these ladies on any 1st team all state. Mt Carmel returns most of its players and I said after we played them, Barbe was fortunate to play them this year with them only playing 10 games and at our house. I know its your opinion but I couldn't disagree with you more, Mt Carmel would start next year in my top 5 if I were ranking them at this time.

Barbedad, I couldn't agree with you more. I couldn’t be at that particular game you are talking about but I have seen Ashley Colvin play. She sees the game well and has great ball control. She is definitely a threat to any team mt carmel faces and I am sure I have seen the others play too but I can't put names with faces right now?? I can not wait for next season! Hopefully a full unharmed season can be played.

#2 for Magnet is Dorrie Vaughn, she will be a senior next year. Excellent player in the midfield...she has size, strength, vision, and great touch. She's doesn't have great speed but makes up for it with her ability to read the game. She will have a better supporting cast around her next year...but Magnet's success will still heavily depend on her to run the show.

I agree that #2 for Magnet (did not know her name before now) is a playa. She played one heck of a game against Lafayette High during the playoffs. She has great size as well as the ability to read the game, and she challenged everybody near her on the field. I truely hope that the coaches are sending tapes and doing whatever they have to do to get this young lady a soccer scholarship somewhere. If not, someone needs to get her exposure. Because she can play at the next level. Keep us informed as to what colleges are interested.
