Hate to hear that from one of the top players in the state - hopefully she will have a speedy full recovery and come back stronger than ever for her senior year. There is a great, experienced Ortho in Shreveport that handles multiple colleges and pro- athletes - Dr. William Bundrick. It is worth looking into - have seen him personally for the last few years and many kids that tore their ACL are back on the field as strong as ever.

I hate to see great players get hurt. I hope Kellie has a quick and successful recovery.

What a shame just as the HS season was getting ready to start. Will she be back in place by Spring? Difficult to show off your talents from the bench. AS far as STM goes someone will have to step into the breach and handle the job. Prayers go out for Kelli that she has a speedy recovery.

Dr. William Bundrick....A VERY GOOD DOCTOR/SURGEON.....TigerDad is giving good advice. Also a few good ones in BR. The same guys that deal w/ the LSU athletes. Best wishes on a speedy and successful recovery.

I'm sure there are lots of great ortho surgeons in Lafayette. Dr. Phil Bacilla here in Alexandria repaired my daughter's ACL after a soccer injury last year. He took a piece of her hamstring tendon, split it in three, and braided it, then replaced the torn ACL. After much rehab, she is back playing in her senior year. She's not quite as fast, but is getting there quickly, and will hopefully get there by District. Best wishes to Ms. Murphy, and I hope to see her playing at LSU in a couple of years.

I may be able to offer another suggestion even closer. Dr. Micheal Brunet is at Mid-state Orthopedic in Alexandria. He was head of Tulane Orthopedics (I think) prior to Katrina. He was instrumental in setting up the Biomechanics Lab at Tulane that worked with softball players including the women's Olympic team. I would really consider him if it were my player or daughter. He is also a very nice guy that is low key, quiet type that exudes confidence. I hope that the player does well. I know that last year our team lost a player to ACL. It was hard on her, her family and the team. She is back now and the coach says that she looks better than before the injury.

Just a little bit of information on Kellie. She has had the surgery already and has started rehab as well. Things seem to going just fine and she is in good spirits. Though she will miss ths high school season, I know her little sister will try to fill her shoes while she is gone. Danielle is a freshman and quite a player as well. I can promise you no one will rehab harder than she will to get back playing. Can't wait to see her and Danielle playing together next year. STM will be okay without Kellie, although they would be much stronger with her. Good luck to the cougars.

Keep your chin up Kellie, the rehab will make you even stronger as a person for persevering, and a strong player because of it.
