Terrebonne 1 - Mandeville 3 Another good game played by 2 good teams. Mandeville was without a doubt the better team in the first half tonight. Both defenses played well and controlled the game. Mandeville passed well and moved the ball better in the first half. Mandy had one great opportunity to score but mis-fired over the goal. Terrebonne had one good opportunity in the first few minutes but waited too long to shoot and missed into the side netting. The second half started with Terrebonne moving the ball much better and missing on a shot inside the six and then having a let down on defense and giving up and easy shot right in front of the goal. Both teams picked up their level of play with Mandeville scorring again on another Terrebonne mistake. I give Terrebonne credit for not dropping their heads and really finding another level of play. For the last 20 minutes of the second half they played like everyone has been expecting them to play. They moved the ball well and scored with numbers finally up on a nice cross to a wide open forward at the six. The momentum shifted to the Tigers for the next 15 minutes with several runs until Mandeville was fouled about 15 yards outside the 18. The Mandeville player did a great job of putting the ball up in the air at the goal. The Terrebonne goalie called her defense off and the ball bounced around the 8 and right over her head for the score to take a 3-1 lead. It was a great win for a very strong Mandeville team and a hard loss for Terrebonne. Mandeville is a very good passing team with speed and good hard physical play. They were the better team tonight and a good measuring stick for Terrebonne. Terrebonne has got to play 90 minutes of soccer the way they played at the beginning of the game and the beginning of the second half. Time will tell if they have what it takes to make a big run this year.

Looks like a pretty easy schedule for the mighty tigers, I look for them to be undefeated this year as long as their superstars are healthy. With their offense they should be able to beat most boy teams. [/b]Mighty big change of HEART from this quote soccerfest!!!

Excuse me! goal scored by a forward? I believe that the goal was scored by the sweeper sosoplayer! Get it right. The forwards have done nothing. Maybe we need to move the defense to offense and the offense to the bench! oh soccerfest - you have so much to learn. When the goal was scored the player had been moved from sweeper to forward. I thought Contreras did a good job trying to shake things up and get momentum shifted. It worked. Don't loose site of who T-Bonne has played these last 2 games. These are top teams with great offense and great defense. Terrebonnes offense will start clicking and the goals will start to go in soon and the defense will improve too and maybe keep these teams out of the goal completely. Remember, it's not where they are right now, it's where will they be in February and I believe they will be right in the thick of the play-offs with a much stronger team because of games like this.

WOW - I didn't think anyone could put 3 goals on T-Bonnes defense. Mandy came to play I guess. Sorry I missed this one. Sounds like soccerfest is bailing on his/her girls again. Good story soso. Is there anyone else out there that can give their side? Did T-Bonne hang in like soso says or was it all Mandy? Where is putmeincoach2 when you need him? Hang in there T-Bonne, remember, you don't get better beating teams 10-0 this time of year, you get better playing teams like Mt. Carmel, Mandeville and your next game against Fontainebleau. I hate agreeing with soso but February is what counts so lighten up soccerfest.

Fontainebleau 5 Terrebonne 0
Sad day for Terrrebonne. The first half was all FHS. Terrebonne had a couple of clean opportunities early and fired blanks. After that it was all FHS with the first half ending 4-0. Terrebonne just didn't appear to be in the game the first half at all. The second half was a totally different game but to little to late. Several more opps for Terrebonne and 1 more goal for FHS. FHS is strong and fast and well deserving of the hype they get on this board. Terrebonne needs to step up their play if they want to keep people talking about them. They've opened this season with three straight losses against Mt. Carmel, Mandeville and now Fontainebleau so let's see if they can pick their heads up and get it in gear.

T-Bonne got a much needed win today with a 3-1 win over ED White. It's about time these girls got it going. The offense moved the ball today but should have finished more of their runs. The most impressive thing was the defense. ED White only had a few decent runs all day. They were coming off a 3-0 win over Central so I assume they have some offense but you didn't see anything today. This was good for T-Bonne and just shows that the old man on the side knows how to coach this team. We should see the same thing against St Charles Catholic tomorrow. I will miss tomorrows game so post the score ASAP.

Take your losses early, learn from them and be stronger by the end of January, first of Febuary when the playoffs come around.

Terrebonne 2 Destrehan 1
The first half of this game was OK but saw Terrebonne miss several opportunities to score. The coach was trying players in new places and it appears he has still not finalized his line up. The second half was a totally new game for both teams. Destrehan stepped up their game and got more physical and Terrebonne seemed happy to return the higher level of play. Terrebonne scored on a beautiful pass up the middle to Champagne to take a 1-0 lead. Destrehan came back on a busted defensive assignment which saw a Destrehan forward take down a defender in front of the goal and then place a nice shot in the left side of the goal. This exchange raised the intensity even more and it appeared that Terrebonne was not going to be stopped. The ball stayed on the Terrebonne 1/2 for pretty much the remainder of the game with Champagne scoring again on a very similar type pass between the fullback and sweeper to put the game away. Both teams played good hard soccer with Terrebonne holding the edge on shots on goal 14 - 5. The second half was they type of play we've been waiting to see these girls play and exactly what we expected from our old district 6 rivals from Destrehan. I expect to see both of these teams in the play-offs this year. Good job to both teams.

fhssoccerfan - I don't know if Destrehan improved or who played in the scrimmage early in the season vs FHS. I do know that Terrebonne is moving people around and testing things and is also working on putting the ball in the net. We still have the same girls that scored 151 goals last year and there is no reason to think anything has changed. You also need to be aware that these are old district rivals and these games can be exciting and everyone plays to a little higher level when emotions are involved. Terrebonne may be a little inconsistent right now but I for one think they are doing just fine. If you are insinuating that Terrebonne should have beat them by the same score FHS did during a scrimmage I can only say thanks for the compliment.

Destrehan was missing approx. 5 starters due to volleyball and injuries for the scrimmage with FHS. The majority of those players were on defense and mid field. They don't have the depth to overcome that many players being out but can be competitive with their starting 11.

You make a good point fhssoccerfan. T-Bonne is inconsistent right now. I only saw the second half tonight but saw a team that should have scored another 3 or 4 goals on pure speed alone. They were getting good balls behind defenders and not scoring. If things keep up like this it will be another quarterfinals departure for the Tigers this year. This was the best half of soccer I've seen this year from them and think maybe things are coming around. Champane put 2 bullets in the back of the net to remind us of what she can do. If she gets it going the rest will follow. Im having a hard time agreeing with soso again but I do agree that there is no reason to think the offense wont get it going soon.
mark18 thanks for the scoop on the scrimmage. Everyone was missing players during the early part of the season so scrimmages didn't show much.

Sosoplayer24:
In week 1 Destrehan defeated HLB handily. I think the final score was 7-0.

Terrebonne 1 - Dominican 1 Hard game played by both teams. I kind of agree with what thruball posted on this weeks scores thread. Terrebonne controlled the first half and Dominican controlled the second half. Both teams had chances to put this game away. I thought both teams showed that their defenses can keep them in games.

Terrebonne 10 Morgan City 1
Morgan City gave Terrebonne way to much respect in this game. As thruball mentioned in the scores post, they lined up with 8 or 9 in the back and left them there pretty much all night. Not to second guess the coach but the MC city girls have come a long way in the last couple of years under his leadership and I think they could have made this a lot better game. Terrebonne worked the ball in and out all night with all of the scores coming from the 18 and in. My stats indicate that Terrebonne out shot MC 30-2 with one of the 2 being a PK after a THS defender tripped one of the MC forwards in the area on a run down. There were flashes of MC playing some good ball and I can't help but wonder what kind of game it would have been if they just lined up and went toe to toe with THS. Kudos to the MC goalie for making some fantastic saves and showing her stuff. Kudos for Contreras rotating his players and giving everyone a chance to play. I look for MC to make a run this year in their district and hope the coach doesn't hold them back like this again.
