i was just going by the nwlsra site. so NCHS has the tough week of matches not Shreve. That's not good news. I was hoping NCHS could finish one or two and earn a top ten mention. The girls keep doing better and better. The don't have many seniors this year either.

Caddo Magnet 3 Natchitoches 2
First game for Magnet in a month due to rain outs and it showed. Natchitoches played a very physical and direct style game. They have 2 girls up top that are fast and have good skills and they played a counter attack game that was pretty effective. Magnet had the majority of the possession and it just took a lot of shots to finally get the goals they needed. NCHS keeper had a good game and made several excellent saves.
NCHS scored first on a free kick from about 25 yds out about 15 minutes in. Magnet tied it up 10 minutes later and the half ended 1-1. 2nd half started with NCHS missing a great chance on a breakaway just wide of the post. NCHS scored their second goal on a great run from their forward who beat 4 defenders on the dribble before beating the keeper near post. Magnet again fought back and tied the game 2-2 about 10 minutes later off a nice through ball to the outside mid running on who beat the keeper.
The last 15 minutes saw both teams have a few good opportunities before Magnet scored the winner. The goal came from a nice penetrating run by the center mid who forced 2 defenders to commit before playing the ball through to the right forward who was 1 on 1 with the keeper and buried it.
Overall, good game to get back in the swing of things for both teams. NCHS has really improved this year and is a dangerous team. Hopefully Magnet, Byrd and NCHS can make a decent run in the playoffs this year. Good luck to all.

Friday Score
Airline 1 Shreve 0
Good Match at Indy. Airline had more opportunities and got their goal at the beginning of the second half. Shreve had a couple of good chances at the end but could not put one in. Shreve now has to beat Airline on Monday (if we play) to have a shot to get one of the fifth place wildcards.
I see where Magnet still has 6 district matches to play in the next 2 weeks. If it rains like they say it is going to Sunday and Monday, they may have to play them in about a 10 day span.
Byrd looks like they have the district barring a huge upset. NC and Magnet will battle it out for the 2 and 3 seeds.

Magnet goes unbeaten but finishes third in the tournament, Pine Tree advanced out of bracket to the final on goal difference. Slowly but surely this team is starting gel and get comfortable together on the field.
As Shrevedad said we have a lot of soccer coming in the next few weeks. Monday - Natchitoches, Tuesday - Shreve, Thurs through Sat - Houston Tournament and then 3 games the following week. No rest for the wet and weary.
