Dominican 1 - Destrehan 0
Dominican controlled the play throughout. Destrehan missing 4 starters and played a Freshman at goalie who played well making numerous saves. Most of Dominican's shots were from fairly long range that were directly at the keeper but she gave up no rebounds. Dominican goal game in the first half on a header following up a crossing pass from the right side of the field.

Good to see Terrebonne finally get going. It should have been more but since it's a W we wont complain. Total control of the game from the start. T-Bonnes defense was the real deal today. Maybe 2 real chances for ED White today. The one goal came at the 36th minute of the 35 minutes halves. A free kick over all subs with the sub goalie but it still counts. Terrebonne may have lost their starting right fullback. She was headed in for x-rays after the game. Could create a dent in the armor of the defense for district if that's the case. If anyone knows anything about her injury post it please. It was good to see the assistant coach put some players on the field where they belonged and get these girls going. Good ball movement today and the team played with some heart and life. Could this be a sign that they're back?

Woodlawn 1 East Ascension 3 Typical holiday game. EA missing three starters and am sure the Lady Panthers were missing some as well. EA took lead with a PK after 12 mins, and added another from a 14 yd effort after a corner kick after around 20 mins. Woodlawn pressed well and pulled one back, HT 2-1. Second half nicely worked individual goal from midfield run, finished with a lil fake at edge of the box and shot well. Last 30 mins was mostly one-way traffic, but scoreline did not change. Keeper and sweeper of Woodlawn kept them in the game, moreso late on, just need a greater support act to aid their offense to be a team with the potential to surprise some.

Terrebonne 2 St. Charles Catholic 0 in OT
I guess any win is a good win but this was a tuff one. Terrebonne out shot St. Charles Catholic 21-3 and pretty much kept the ball on their end 3/4's of the game. Shot after shot off the pipe, over the goal, wide left and right. The only way they didn't miss today was under the goal. They played hard and moved the ball well at times but were still missing the finishing shots. 2 quick goals in overtime put this away. The injured fullback was on the bench today but did not play. She should be ok in a few days.

Rebel cup score
DeRidder over Oauchita Christian 2-0 Menard over DeRidder 2-0 in the semis. Congrats to DeRidder for making it to the semis for the first time in team history.
Any post on the final of Menard-Mandeville would be appreciated.

Pompey was kind EA outshot Woodlawn 18 (12 on frame) to 7 (4 on frame). Woodlawn solves internal problems maybe able to win, otherwise another long season is ahead.

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. While catching up on some of the scores and comments from the last few days I wanted to add my 3 cents here. - A) Why is Mandeville High School playing in the Rebel Cup? Ouachita Christian?, Menard?, DeRidder? No offense to those teams but that Esker guy needs to be preparing the team for his district and not padding his stats. Most of his teams over the years won in spite of him, just like Mt.Carmel did after him and has done the last few years with Rob Villio. And - B) why are Terrebone and St. Charles Catholic playing an overtime game. Aren't they different divisions? THese are just a few things to chew on. I did not know where to put them and didn't want to start a new thread.

bungee - I can only answer part B of your post. I was there and couldn't believe it either. 30 shots on goal for Terrebonne and 6 for St. Charles Catholic (according to the Houma Courier) can only explain that Terrebonne had a very bad day finishing. I just watched the USA do the same thing against Canada so it happens at all levels. I can honestly say I made the comment during the US match that it was like watching Terrebonne yesterday. I am in no way comparing the two accept that Terrebonne could not finish one goal in 70 minutes and then scored 2 in the 10 minute overtime. Terrebonne has the ability to post big numbers on teams but has yet to get it going. Once they do they will be fine. Good question bungee, I've been waiting for someone to post something.

As far as Terrebonne/St. Charles playing Overtime Periods...
The game they played was in a Tournament that gave each team two games. (The Sacred Heart Tournament)... Since it was a Tournament, they had to finish with a result of a winner by following the LHSAA rules for continueing a game that has ended in a draw.
That is the match we are talking about correct?
