St. Thomas Aquinas - 5 Salmen - 1
St. Thomas scored early and kept the offensive pressure throughout most of the first half. Because of three players gone for the holidays and one player being injured during the game, STA played one player down for 30 minutes in the second half.
Salmen looked strong at times making some offensive runs, but STA defense is pretty solid.

Neville 3 - Parkway 1. Cold night for soccer but the girls were moving for both teams. Neville is trying to get back in their groove and Parkway is young but energetic and will only improve as the year goes on. A defensive breakdown allowed Parkway to go up 1-0 early then Neville scored 3 unanswered by 3 different players (two were my two daughters - had to put that in). Eliza Sartor scored on a looping shot from 18 then Allee Crews on a header on the assist from Alex Loomis and then Macee Crews scored on a cross from Alex Loomis again. Neville controlled most of the play but Parkway will get better as they mature. Parkway has a good aggresive goalie that will help them in many games.

S.H. 3 VCHS 1 Sacred Heart very good orginized team that will compete with any team out there. VCH was able to hang in for about a half. VCH scored first and S.H. tied near half time. VCHS had about 3 good chances and capitalized on 1...SH too many chances to count!! Was very impressed with SH.

Tues. 11/21:
St. Martin's 0, Destrehan 0
About equal possession (Destrehan had more in the first half, St. Martin's more in the second). No really good scoring chances for either team.

East Ascension 0 Sacred Heart 4. As for SH, see notes above from unsoccer. They are their usual real deal. Was very pleased with EAHS defensive effort, plus happy to get a few offensive opportunities, plus subbed in heavily. HT was 2-0.
Only yellow card was for SH player remaining on the field, they had 12 at one time for a few minutes, otherwise the score would have ben 4-4:) Good, clean, hard play throughout.

I attended the Destrehan-St. Martin's game as well. Both teams played solid defense but Destrehan did have a couple of solid chances that were denied by the St. Martin's keeper. In addition Destrehan did score in the final couple of minutes after a scramble in the box following a corner kick but the referee waved the goal off (I'm not sure if it was an offsides call or a foul).
It was a physical game especially in the second half and Destrehan lost 2 players to apparent leg injuries.
Should be a confidence boost to Destrehan as they head into a Friday game with Dominican

Fontainebleau 5 Terrebonne 0
Sad day for Terrrebonne. The first half was all FHS. Terrebonne had a couple of clean opportunities early and fired blanks. After that it was all FHS with the first half ending 4-0. Terrebonne just didn't appear to be in the game the first half at all. The second half was a totally different game but to little to late. Several more opps for Terrebonne and 1 more goal for FHS. FHS is strong and fast and well deserving of the hype they get on this board. Terrebonne needs to step up their play if they want to keep people talking about them. They've opened this season with three straight losses against Mt. Carmel, Mandeville and now Fontainebleau so let's see if they can pick their heads up and get it in gear.

Heads Up D1 Barbe is the real deal. If they could just get that CenterMid to use her left foot. lol They move the ball as well as if not better than some of the boys teams that I have seen. Game tonight should have been 3-2. It's hard to have a chance when you put two 1-on-1 breakaways into the goalies chest. Great game barbe I enjoyed watching a team play with not only skill, but knowledge of how the game should be played and executed both well. Oh BTW the girl for SHHS sent to the hospital, Mandi Cooke, was discharged before the JV game finished.

St Louis 4 Sulphur 0
Great ball control and possion from the Lady Saints. Jordan Kolde had a "hat trick" with the final goal on a rocket over the goalie's head from 25 yds out! Grace Stulb added 1 more. Saints out shot them at least 20 to 2. Sulphur is much improved over last year but has to compete in one of the top D1 districts in the state and locally against STL and Sam Houston and can only get better.
