defense doesn't get much credit like offense does...so let's talk about some defensive players from ASH, Tioga, Derrider, Sam Houston and Leesville. Who is the best?

I haven't seen many of the teams but as I have said for the past 2 years, Ashley (Sam houston Keeper) is one of the top goalies I have seen in any division. Her punts are futher than any other goalie and most boy keepers and SHHS should utilize her punts on offensive attacks. She should be front runner for D2D2 Defensive Player of the Year.

Sr. defenders Lauren Williams(#31) and KC McDowell(#34) for ASH have held the back line now for years. They are outstanding. Tioga has had a stellar defender on the backline, may be a Sr, McQueen perhaps? She's been a thorn in our side for years.

from what i have seen megan martinez for deridder whom is either the sweeper or stopper and katie woodhams whom is the sweeper for leesville are very good defenders. katie is an extremely fast and intelligent player and megan controls her entire defense very well

I have to agree with Mung being a trojan fan. Lauren Williams and KC McDowell are two of the best defenders in the district if not possibly the state. Lauren Williams has great speed, aggression, and good positioning, and KC McDowell has great ball skills to take the ball up the field. Melanie Queen is also going to be an outstanding goalie in years to come being only a sophmore.

I will go even further than both Mung and trojansoccer, Emily Kyle has done a darn good job of replacing Kim Wytcherly at sweeper. With her being a junior, she and Melanie Queen, keeper, have this year and the next to really work together. She is also developing a voice to help control field. I think we are going to have fun the next few years.
