After all the "hate mail" I receive, just kidding, I thought we should open up a discussion on what teams are not getting the recognition they deserve and to better educate the pollsters. Here is some I know about:
Div I Acadiana 15-7 overall 8-3 in district Hahnville 18-5 overall 5-0 in district Natchitoches Central 7-2 overall 6-2 in district Comeaux 9-4 overall 8-3 in district
Div II Tioga 10-4-2 overall 4-3 in district
Div III Ouachhita Christian 11-7 overall CHSPC 9-7-2
Any others out there??

Opelousas Catholic is swimming just below the surface. They have a good team and will test Menard this Saturday.

I don't think that CHSPC's record speaks for the caliber of team that they are. Saw them play in the St. Amant tourney and they seemed to be holding their own with some very good DI teams. In addition they have had some good wins as of late.
They certainly deserve to be getting votes.

barbedad20, Being from district 3, and looking at the brackets, some district champs will be exiting early. My prediction is that Acadiana, Comeaux, and maybe New Iberia will send teams home early. These aren't your typical wildcard teams. I notice Hahnville has a nice record, be thankful, you are probably safe the first round. I don't think they will put a 4th district 3 team in the bottom half of the bracket. The good thing is, to get to the finals you have a chance to knock off the top 3 teams from district 3. If you get to the finals you have my vote for #1. You guys are in a tough part of the bracket. This is based on the teams I have seen play this year. Byrd - probably district 1 champs - lost 3 games in the Lafayette Tourney. But they are a pretty good team. Dominican - saw them in New Orleans tourney early in the year - will give the top of the bracket fits. Don't count them out. I really believe districts 3 and 5 will dominate the brackets. Lets see which team will prove me wrong. Good luck to all in the playoffs.

McGehee in D3 -- lost close district games 2-0 to Newman and 2-1 to Sacred Heart. Probably should be about 6th or 7th in D3.

I also think District 4 in D1 will surprise people. They only have 1 team in the top ten but all 4 teams look impressive.

observer, are you serious? There are only 2 teams with winning records from your district. I know Dutchtown lost 5-0 to St. Thomas More and it could have been worst. I know STM is tough but the majority of Dutchtowns wins are in your district against teams with losing records. Dutchtown and BRHS may beat a wild card team the first round of the playoffs, but don't look for them to be a force. But 4 teams like you said, PLEASE.

I think you need to remember timeframe of results. DTHS lost to STM quite a while ago, lets hope that further daily practice combined with quality coaching will help most teams improve -- this is evidently the case with DTHS. I think they will gain some serious respect come playoff time. They are heading in a direction any coach would be pleased about.

So, sokerfan, if I can put words in your mouth, what you are saying (Pay attention BRHS, St. Amant, Dutchtown, St. Joseph) is: THERE ARE NO GOOD DIVISION I TEAMS IN THE BATON ROUGE AREA OR ALL THE BATON ROUGE AREA DIVISION I TEAMS ARE "BENEATH" OR "LESS THAN" THE REST OF THE DIVISION I TEAMSInteresting, sokerfan has laid the gauntlet down.............. Go get'em Baton Rouge area Division I teams.

Pompey, you may be right, we'll see. Dogabone my mouth is full from all the words you've put in it. That's not quite what I 've said, but hey Baton Touge area teams prove me wrong. I challenge you to make me apologize come years end. If not I will have to say "I TOLD YOU SO". LET'S SEE WHAT YOU GOT.

not so sure that is earth shattering stuff, the rankings have consistently placed FB, Mandy and Barbe ahead of any BR schools anyway.

Acadiana played Barbe at home tonight and even though Barbe won 3-2, it took them double overtime and I don't really think they can say they dominated either. I saw amazing play from a team that nobody thought would do much this year. I think there was a bus load of girls going back to Lake Charles thinking "what the *&@#."
