Taking what little I know currently and using info from last year, here is what I have come up with for the Playoff Brackets. Comments?
Round 1 1-1 Byrd WC Acadiana
4-2 St Amant 2-3 Oachita
4-1 Dutchtown WC Pontchatoula
2-2 Ruston 4-3 BRHS
5-1 Mandeville WC St Joe's
6-2 Destrahan 8-3 Chapelle
8-1 Mt Carmel WC S. Lafourche
8-2 Dominican 6-3 E St John
2-1 West Monroe WC Airline
5-2 Fontainebleau 1-3 Natchitoches Central
3-1 Lafayettle WC Captain Shreve
1-2 Caddo Magnet 5-3 Hammond
6-1 Hahnville WC HL Bourgeois
7-2 Central LaFourche 3-3 Comeaux
7-1 Terrebonne WC NISH
3-2 Barbe 7-3 S Terrebonne
Interesting match-ups in the first round. Should be some good match-ups and an upset or 2 brewing:
Bryd vs Acadiana Mandeville vs St Joe's Destrahan vs Chapelle Fontainebleau vs Natchitoches Cental Lafourche vs Comeaux

barbedad20 - I've been looking at the brackets too and we almost mirror each others predictions. My big question is do you think they will send another D3 team to the bottom bracket as a WC? If you look at the possabilities if things went right for D3, you could have a possible D3 game in the second and third round. Surely that is not what the state wants to see. Also, Terrebonne had NISH in the first round last year when the brackets made sense.

barbedad20 - Looks like Acadiana Could have the best track out of district 3. They have already beaten Byrd 2-0 in the Laffy tourney. If they could pull it off again I don't see them outmatched until possible the semi's. And if they get there anything could happen. Once the dust settles and the brackets are ser, I will make my predictions. Lets see who knows the teams best.

barbedad20 - Looks like Acadiana Could have the best track out of district 3. I couldn't agree more.... I think the 4th place team in District 3 will go to Byrd and that is the easiest path to the semi's. Not saying it is going to be easy with Byrd-Dutchtown-BRHS just easier than any other path to the semi's.

So Mt. Carmel and Dominican could play in the Regional Round? Two teams from the same district could meet as early as the second game of the playoffs? That doesn't seem right. What if hypothetically they were the best two teams in the state? It seems like it wouldn't take rocket scientist to have the first and second place teams from a district, not to have to meet up before, I don't know, the semis if not the finals. Something needs to change in the future, especially with the future of Division I getting even tougher next year. Just my 2 cents...........

BRHS and Dutchtown also in 2nd round & terrebone and South Terrebone. I haven't sat down to figure it out but there has to be a way to avoid this. Granted these could be first vs. third match-ups, but still very early in the play-offs to see another team from your district.

Very interesting how you guys have Acadiana as the wildcard in District 3. Aren't they currently tied for first with Lafayette and Barbe? According to the records they have already beaten Comeaux and still have bouts with Barbe, Comeaux and Lafayette remaining. I would suspect them to possibly finish 3rd or even better depending on how they fare. Just a thought!

watajoke, If Acadiana wins out I will put them as the favorite to go all the way. They have the toughest schedule left in the district. Tough odds that's why we figure them to finish 4th. I agree they could finish higher, but worst case they would finish 4th. Not a bad path. What's more important, a district championship or a chance to play in the big game and possibly win it? Maybe Laffy or Barbe should lose the remaining games so they can play teams other than from district 3. Just a thought.

sokerfan, I am not saying that they will win out....but it sounds as though you are saying they will lose 3 out of the next 4...that is the only way according to the records on here they could possibly finish 4th.....is that correct? Of course that is assuming Barbe beats Comeaux in the rematch.....I would highly doubt any coach would want there teams to lose games in order to get an easier road, but I have been proven wrong before. According to an earlier post by yourself, they were not talented and young. I am assuming your thoughts remain the same. Just a thought!

seems like the underdogs would want people to keep underestimating them, look where that has gotten them so far

I am assuming Acadiana likes where they are in this district....Just trying to figure out the possibilities that surround District 3 the remainder of this season...I am assuming they will always be considered underdogs with Lafayette and Barbe in their district.

watajoke, I did say early in the season Acadiana would not be a factor. Because they are rebuilding after the key players they lost last year. They have surprised me so far this year and have come along further than I thought they would. After I saw them play Fountainebleau early in the year without some players, I figured they would be better than I originally thought. I just thought Laffy, Barbe, and Comeaux would be ahead of them because of the players and experience on those squads. Acadiana has a tough road ahead, but they could go 3-0 or 0-3 or any combination. I just think 4th is the place to finish in this district for the easier road to the finals. Simply because the top 3 will have to knock each other out to advance further in the brackets. They have just as good a shot as any. Good Luck.
