I suspect what happened is the teams that were supposed to play there were from the opposite side of the state and elected to not play expecting a loss. Instead of spending a lot of money on the trip they school just declined / forfeited their game giving those two teams a bye.

Sometimes a bye is a bad thing too, but overall it does seem bizarre. Also, not saying Ursuline not deserving of a bye, they have had a great season so far, but if down to deserving am sure they'd agree that likes of STM or Neville would be as deserving being #1 in their dist.
It's a strange one....

Not so sure that was the case, as brackets came out automatically with BYE in place???

We found out who we were playing last night, so I wouldn't be surprised if those coaches when called about playoffs declined over the phone.

I think that was the case, b/c the blank play-off brackets had SSA and Ursuline playing wildcard teams.

Makes sense, but you would not know your opponent till today if a WC, but you could know your opponent if a dist 1, 2, or 3.

You are probably right about CHSNI, that was a mistake in the bolding process, however I am hoping Coach Benny and his girls pull one out over McGehee. Saw PJPII play and my team played against McGehee so I thought I would just go with the hometown (I am from the Dell) favorite. And coach you know your girls will get far maybe even to the end. Must be nice to have such great talent! I am a big fan!! Good Luck!

Menard defeated DeRidder in the Rebel Cup. But, I beleive DeRidder has more than one loss this season. Not many, but more than one.

DeRidder's 2 losses are to Menard in the Rebel Cup and to Tioga during district play. Tie was to ASH in the Rebel Cup . Final record for regular season was 22-2-1

Div I Regionals Barbe* Caddo MagnetPredictions in bold Okay rockstar, you have picked Caddo over Barbe and I have to ask??? WHY? Barbe is 13-0 at home this year beating Lafayette twice at home, Acadiana at home, and Comeaux at home which are 3 of the top teams in the state. Why do you think the #2 team from district 1 can come in and beat the district 3 champs Barbe at home. I have a Barbe shirt to bet if you are willing to take me up on this. You on?

I know things aren't what they seem, but I am with barbedad on this one. My line of thinking goes like this: (1) Byrd beat Caddo twice (2) Byrd beat Split with Acadiana - recently beat them 1-0 (3) Acadiana finished 4th in district 3 - Barbe 1st (4) Barbe is at HOME Now I'm not taking anything away from Caddo, they were good last year, but they have avery tough task at hand. Should be a good game but I give the edge to the Lady Bucs.

Baton Rouge is beatable. You just have to deal with some of the pushing their way-literally through the defense.Very strong players physically. Have some fast wings also that I was impressed with. Watch for #18- she is skilled but relies on reckless physical play-effective since she wasn't called on it.Take a look at the Sat advocate picture to see her style of play.I do not think BR is equal to the skill we saw from Mandeville or Fontainebleau. My compliments to their student base for a great cheering section.

I picked them for two reasons....1) to get you all talking, and thank you that didn't take long.....
and 2) Barbe didn't convince me with their 2-0 win over SJA.
I know, I know you are going to argue that SJA is a good team but I have seen SJA play several times and if Barbe is the team they are hyped up to be then they should have beaten them by more. ( I realize this is not scientific, but aren't predictions for fun, nothing personal is meant by it).
Just my opinion and I may be wrong but this is a prediction thread, I want to pick Caddo, they may lose but isn't that the fun part of playoffs predictions, seeing if you can PREDICT games! ;D

St Charles lost to Northlake Christian on Wednesday 2-1 right after winning the district on Monday against E.D. White.
St Charles played with their forwards injured from the E.D. White game on Monday. Jessica Rauch was injured and Reyna Lubin was injured with a sprained right ankle. Even though they both played, they were not a factor with their injuries. St Charles has a very young team and has potential to go a lot further next season.
