Send me any corrections and I will update. This might clear up all the possible playoff brackets. And remember, all Wildcard teams are ranked by winning percentage in district first so a 5th palce team can get in over a 4th place team if the record is deserving. (thanks Timbertwin!)

While the current standings for District 6 are correct, Hahnville and Destrehan's positions are not set. Hahnville is 9-0 in District with Destrehan at 8-1. The teams play this Friday @ Destrehan. Hahnville won the first matchup 3-2 in Double OT.
Should be 2 great games Friday (Girls at 5:00 and Boys at 7:00). Those in the area come out and witness some intense action and enjoy some first class jambalaya.

Same for district 7 mark18. Terrebonne is 11-0 and Central Lafourche is 10-1 with the final game at Terrebonne Friday night. Terrebonne won the first game at Central 3-0 in the first half of the season. It should be a great final. Game time is 5:00 Friday with a great boys game between # 1 & 2 in the district also.

BRHS's victory last night against St. Joe's moves them ahead of St. Amant in District 4

I don't think District 8 is set yet. Mt. Carmel is #1 as the champion, but I believe the #2 seed is still up for grabs. Chapelle plays Dominican tonight. Dominican won the first game between the 2 teams early in December. If Dominican wins today they are #2, but if Chapelle wins, there will be a playoff game between the 2 teams to determine who will be #2 and #3.

Airline and Natch Central are each 7-4 with 1 game to go. Each has to play Byrd. Natch Central has the tiebreaker advantage for 3rd place due to winning by 3 and losing by only 1 in their 2 matches with Airline. Shreve is in 5th place and has completed district play with a 4-8 record.

With Airlines big win over Byrd last night they finish district play with an 8-4 record. Natchitoches Central must beat Byrd on Monday to tie Airline at 8-4 and get the 3rd place seed in the playoffs.

Also if Natchitoches can beat Byrd Monday, Caddo Magnet and Byrd will be co-district champs with Byrd retaining the #1 seed. Go Chiefs

District 6
Hahnville and Destrehan split season series 1-1.
Hahnville wins district championship on district goal average tie-breaker.
Destrehan finishes second place in district.
Not sure who will be 3rd and WC since East St. John and West Jefferson played tonight and each have 4-5 district records going in.

I have to ask, what exactly is district goal average?
I have heard of goal differential but this is a new term for me. Please explain how this is calculated.
Given that Hahnville and Destrehan split during the season (each beat the other by 1 goal and finished the District with identical 9-1 records), I would think they would be considered co-champions with Hahnville the #1 seed due to this district goal average calculation

District goal average is goals for divided by goals against (max 5 goal differential) in overall district play.
The first tie-breaker in this district is head to head competition. Tied because of the games split.
The second tie-breaker is head-to-head goal differential. Tied 3 goals for/3 goals against each.
The third tie-breaker is overall district goal average (see above description). Since Destrehan allowed 1 more goal in all district games than Hahnville, HHS has the better goal average for all district games.
Would this have been tied, the fourth tie-breaker is overall district goal differential which Hahnville has the edge in as well.
If none of these tie-breakers would have declared a champion, then a playoff for district champion would be necessary. This information is straight from the current District 6 soccer by-laws. In District 6, the only sport in which "co-champions" are named is in football, all other sports have tie-breaking procedures for champions.
If Destrehan would have won by 2 goals or more last night, they would have won the district championship based on the second tie-breaker.
This decision was conferred upon/confirmed by the coaches from both schools last night as well as Destrehan's AD and a former AD at the parish level.
Hahnville reclaims the district crown, Destrehan will finish second. Hats off to both squads for outstanding district seasons and a tremendously competitive pair of games!
