I was wondering why the Private school are still playing in Public school Districts. They have no area limit in which they can pull there players from.So my hats off to good Public players. You have to select and play with players from a set small market.

Are you saying that schools like Fountainebleau are pulling from a small market? Schools are put in divisions based on their population. This is what makes things a level playing field. Granted private schools can pull from anywhere, but players must sit out a year to do so.

This comment comes up every year around playoffs. In central-Louisiana, Menard has to play a boat full of underclassman just to put a team on the field. ASH, Tioga, Pineville, DeRidder, and Bolton all have a numbers advantage. Further, most of the better players play together in the same rec program. I should also note, of those school mentioned above, that Bolton is the only public school actually in Menard's district. My point though, the soccer playing pool in central-Louisiana is fairly shallow, and schools like Menard don't have a particilar player advantage.

They must sit out a year if they do not come from a feeder school. Oh yea.... recruiting is illegal in the eyes of LHSAA (lol)

I'm Just saying look at the top 10 teams for each division. No brain science needed. So what is the problem with all private playing in a new bracket say 6AAA or all players must be within a set mile radius of school like the public(I think 10 miles). Then the playing field is level.I thought private schools were set up for the education not to build power sport programs.

Question~ Since I live in the Hammond area, but question could apply to other teams elsewhere- Is it possible for a private school or a great performing public school ( I am thinking of St. Thomas Aq.-and PJP girls) to play up to a Div II district? Their teams are not challenged in their district and may have better challenges in a more competitive district. The boys team played yesterday against an Independence team that could not field 11 players( I was there for the second half of that game) and the STA girls team rolled over the Independence girls team even when pulling out their starters( heard report on that one).STA girls and PJP girls do have a good game against each other when they play.

just wanted to expand on some of Blackandtan's comments. Most of the Central Louisiana High Schools have a large number of their players coming from recreational programs, into high school now, with the exception of Bolton and Peabody. While Menard do play a lot of underclassmen, these are underclassmen with experience. Bolton struggles to get any of their girls to sign up for rec. soccer and it shows. Menard's bench has more experience than almost all of Bolton's starting line up. The player pool in this area is shallow, but at least most of the high schools are seeing their players involved with soccer outside of high school. This is the key to success for our area schools.
Good luck to all of the Central Louisiana teams in the playoffs!!
