The top three and the champs got byes was the way it was 5 years ago. Complaint was good 4th place teams were left out while, for example the last place team from a three team district got it. Thanks for the positive feedback. In Division I only one 4th place team made it to the 2nd round. Even the 4th and 5th seeds from the best district according to this forum lost. I also believe it should be limited to 24 teams with 2's playing 3's with byes going to 1's

Caddo Magnet 2 Northshore 2
Magnet wins in PKs...pk score was 4-2.
Northshore scored off a corner on a header to go up 1-0 in the first half. Magnet tied it up after a shot off the post came back and went off a Northshore defender and in. Magnet cotrolled much of the 2nd half but gave up a goal against the run of play with 15 left to go. With roughly 10 minutes left Magnet tied it up again with a goal from the right mid off a nice through ball. Regulation ends 2-2. First 2 overtimes Magnet keeps the ball on the Northshore half but gets only a few opportunities. Northshore had a great chance to win the game in the the 2nd golden goal OT but the Magnet keeper made a great save to send it to PKs.
Magnet makes all 4 that were taken Northshore made, missed wide right, made, missed wide left.
Hats off to the Northshore girls who played their hearts out and represented themselves very well. Pretty clean game overall from the officials and both teams. Magnet now gets Barbe at Barbe

Yes terrebonne did beat nish 3-0. ts pretty hard to beat a good team and the refs. Refs were horrible. Terrebonne practically took out nish goalie 3 times with not one penalty called. terrebonnes first goal was offsides. A NISH PLAYER AND TERREBONNE GOALIE COLLIDED NISH GOT A YELLOW CARD. Ive seen terrible calls before but this takes the cake.its a shame for a game to be caaled like this

It appears district 4 and 8 got the short end of the stick as far as the brackets go. The top 3 teams won and now they get to eliminate each other in the 2nd round. What a shame.

Ive seen terrible calls before but this takes the cake.its a shame for a game to be caaled like this I have to agree that the refs left something to be desired. Erratic all night. Several obvious calls not made and several calls made that left you wondering what game they were watching. Terrebones 1st goal was scored on a thru ball that was a possible off sides. Very close. Second goal was good ball movement with a great shot by T-Bonne forward. Third goal was a PK after a take down in the box. There were several collisions with NISH goalie but I thought they were just good hard soccer. She is so aggresive that she does initiate some of the contact. She is a very good goalie and several big saves in the first half kept this a 0-0 game at the half. Terrebonne came out flat and I thought they were lucky to be 0-0 at the half. I don't know what the coach did at the half but they showed up the second half and played good ball the rest of the game. According to the Houma newspaper guy Terrebonne out shot NISH 17-4 with Nish only having 1 shot the second half. Terrebonne is not going have the luxury of taking the first half off against Lafayette. That's for sure. I would like to congratulate New Iberia on a good game. It was exactly what I expected after seeing them last year and knowing the kind of ball played in District 3. Those girls came to play and left it all on the field.

District 4 in the upper part of the top bracket and District 8 in the bottom part of the top bracket. MCA looked very sharp, crisp passes, brilliant first touches and plenty of energy. The mental preparedness had nothing to do with the opponent. Substitutions started at the 20th minute and were completed with all starters removed at the 25th minute. The score was 8-0 at this point of the game. MCA started the second half with the starters back on the field. Substitutions were completed in the 55th minute with only one goal being scored. As a parent and soccer fan I am cognizant of proper sportsmanship and was proud of how our coaches handled the situation. Many of the MCA parents felt for the South Lafourche players. You can tell by the hustle and running styles that they have plenty of athletes on the team. They presently lack the soccer experience that you gain by playing almost year round since the age of five. The real point of this post is to congratulate the competitive/athletic player who is losing by a decisive score and never retaliates with a cheap shot. I think this says more about the quality of the people on these teams then the score. I have discussed this observation with other parents and we have a great deal of respect for the generation of soccer players that the State of Louisiana is raising. Congratulations to the seniors of South Lafourche for your leadership and to your coaches. Your team and many other teams have exhibited a lesson of sportsmanship that will be remembered longer and with more fondness than the score of a game.

My advice to whoever plays Baton Rouge-(we did at a 7-1 loss)- Look at the Sat Advocate Sports section to see how BR #18 plays. Both hands on our defenders chest and pushing. Our defender still got the ball! A picture is worth a 1000 words. She never scored on us. Problem is their offense strong physically-and can push their way literally through. Our defenders,as skilled as they are, are not in the same wt/strength category. I was more inpressed with their wings, but a few of these players run up players backs(we have the footprints on our jerseys to prove it) and were not called on it. However this 18 is strong, skilled enough but reckless in play was how I saw defined her and she ran all over the place. If you get the ball to their side of the field, with some quick play, you can score on them. Be prepared. They will not match up well against Mandeville or Fountainebleau from what I saw- and we have played them all. I really did enjoy the atmosphere there- we brought a cheering section and even some of our Ponchatoula High friends that we play club with came and cheered us on!The BR High kids had a great cheering section that was just plan old school spirit and that was refreshing to experience.

That is the records of the district teams throughout the playoffs. In other words the 4 teams from District 4 that made the playoffs are 6-3. The 3 teams from District 6 went 0-3 for the playoffs, etc.
