I've seen both teams play this year, and I feel that Newman is the better team. I think Newman will win 2-0.
....but...I'm pulling for St. Louis!

I agree, I have seen Newman play McGehee's three times this year and they have only gotten better. Newman 2-1

St. Louis 2 Newman 0 (or 1)
I agree that Newman is strong, but St. Louis' defense is stronger. The Saints are riding a string of shutouts...which may continue through this game. I'll grant Newman 1 goal, though.
With the homefield advantage, I predict St. Louis shall finish the game two goals ahead of Newman -- a good game but not a "nail biter."

It was a great game played by two great defenses. In my opinion, St. Louis has two exceptional players but did not show much depth. Newman's talent and depth began to shine throughout the second half. So maybe it is not Newman's homefield. Maybe it is talent and coaching that cagain advances Newman to the championship game.

Is it true that Newman didn't have some key players due to a Mardi Gras Ball?

Congrats, Newman. Win it all. To the St. Louis Girls, thanks for a great year. I know the underclassmen will be ready for next year. To the seniors, Good luck on the next step.

maninthestands - Newman was missing its leading goal scorer, as well as their senior captain and another key contributor. The leading goal scorer had put in 6 goals in three playoff games, the senior captain is the starting center midfielder, and the other senior who was missing was a significant contributor. The two seniors had previous commitments with Mardi Gras balls in New Orleans while the leading goal scorer was sick.
