Just wanted to reply to all the negativity about Neville fans. I am the Haughton Girls coach and we play them twice a year. The coaching staff, players and the parents are nothing but class. They are a very talented team with a great coaching staff and parents that support the program. They play with class and they win with class.
Yes, they have some boys who act like fools at the game but do not let that change the facts about the program. The girls are very respectful on the field they let their action talk for them. Lets look at what Neville has done. To the best of my knowledge they have not even been scored on this year, not during the season and not in the playoffs. That says a lot about the program.
Tiger dad tell the players and coaching staff congragulations and the Haughton girls are routing for them. How is the girl that got hit in the eye? how is Macy doing?

jlove47 - thanks for the thought but to bring us to reality - Alex Loomis - premier player, regional ODP player, and All state from Neville did suffer a detached retina and had surgery this morning. She is out and not returning. So bad to see one of the special children - great grades, never a bad mood, unlimited energy, great ball control and just a great kid - suffer this injury righ before the biggest game of her career - the finals at home! She was upset and could not believe that all the times she played for Shreveport United and Baton Rouge Soccer Club, Premier tournaments and against college teams - that she goes down on a ball in the eye from a ricochet in the box. She is a great person and her family has supported soccer all over the state and will be missed and our prayers are with her for a speedy recovery!

CHSNI played Neville in December and I agree that the team had a great coach, staff, and four extremely talented players. We did score six on them in our game. We also did experience a rowdy boy crew that were asked to move and then left the game. Good luck to both teams- I watched Ben Franklin at a tournament. Neville will bring on a good dynamic match.

No question, Neville has many fans who love to see rowdy play! But hey, like I said, they got fans!

Like Neville, we have a coach who has a business and has to train with little or no light most of the time. Like most of the teams from the "north" (anything from Alexandria up) we are not afforded a full size soccer pitch on which to train because this is football country. And like most of the girls' teams up this way, we are trying to build a program to compete with the programs that have been built in the south.
However, I know of NO girls' program or school, hopefully in ANY part of the state, that condones or encourages poor sportsmanship. The Lady Tigers from Neville, Coach Sanders nor the parents could ever be accused of condoning actions I have read about in this thread. Since our first meeting in 2002 we have always admired their girls' program and I think it is unfortunate that anyone was mistreated while attending a function at another school. However, I think it is also unfortunate that your attitude would be that those girls or their coach would in any way encourage the behavior of young men who have not matured enough to be let out in public alone.
This incident could unfortunately have happened at any school due to the fact that many students have no self-respect or self-discipline and therefore do not offer respect to others, many times their own school and peers included.
I would like to congratulate Coach Sanders and the girls on their steady march to the finals. I know you parents are proud of what they have been able to accomplish not only this year, but in the past years that have led up to Friday's game. We are excited about being able to attend the game, see some quality soccer played and cheer for the HOME team! GO LADY TIGERS!!!

The ASH Lady Trojans have been tossed from the playoffs in 3 of the last 4 years by Neville. We've also played them a few times during the season, and have never been treated poorly, nor have their fans shown anything but class, at home or when they come to our house. Their girls also are great sports on the pitch. There were a good number of high school kids at our most recent playoff dismissal, and they weren't rude at all. Heck, Tigerdad even bought me some crawfish before the game. I always enjoy playing Neville, except for that part where we lose. Good luck to the Tigers.

unfortunately, i have to agree about the neville boys. last year when we played our district game there, a group of boys stood on the visitors side of the stadium behind our girl's bench and hassled them almost the whole game. things have been thrown on the field at our girls. the neville parents are generally pretty good sports, but they do seem to have a problem with the boys.

im a neville alumni. the really isnt hasnt been a problem with the guys or students being at the girls games. most of the harassing and such happens at the guys games. people rarely watched the girls last year unless it was a big game because i guess they thought it would be a blow out or maybe just didnt feel like going. im sure the game friday will be loud and im sure everybody will hear at least some stuff from the fans

I am the head coach of the Neville boys team. This is my first post ever on these message boards. I have always gotten on to read about the boys, but I've always wanted to stay "under the radar" with my opinions and thoughts about certain issues with soccer. I get on the girls board a few times each season to read what people are saying about Neville girls, too.
On the boys board, Neville has had to put up with some very harsh attacks on us for various reasons. I've kept my mouth shut because they were always talking about our fans, not my team.
I am very upset to hear that anyone from Neville was rude to a visiting school, and I can only hope that the alleged remarks weren't made by a member of the boys soccer team. Our fans have often been subject to ridicule on the boys message board, but these are our fans, not our players. These are the same fans that were at the girls game Friday night. If anything was said, I'd like to think that our boys players have enough class to behave themselves a little better than that.
Whoever it was involved with this incident, please except our apologies. Just as everyone has already said, the Neville soccer teams, athletic program, and school should not be held at such a low level as a few of our fans. These are fans of both boys and girls soccer, but because of the enormity and intensity of the game this is the first time that a visiting girls team has encountered it.
We are sorry, but again understand that I would be highly suprised and extremely disappointed if my boys were involved at all.

In a dream world, the fans could be separated from the team. But in the real world, it is the whole package that is talked about. And this not just Neville but any school. The team's play, ref's, coaches, fans, facilities, field conditions ....everything is part of the experience for the players and the fans. Remember - one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. If Neville is upset at how the Neville 'experience' is portrayed on this board, then Neville needs to make changes in it. Perception is reality and only NHS can change the perception.

i didn't mean to imply that the boys who were yelling were players... i also apologize for the yelling of "bull****" by our fans about the offsides call on our goal, but that certainly wasn't intentional harassment... i don't know how the facility was brought up but i thought the field was just fine... i didn't mean to start chaos on this board, but it's nice to know that the issue was addressed by neville
