Nope! Experience plays a big part in this final match. Lafayette is and will be hungry for a repeat. Dominican's youngsters will get eaten up by the Lady Lions.
Lafayette 2-0. __________________________________

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deciding factor: EXPERIENCE.
Laffy's got it in this particular game, Dominican will be lacking. Could be wrong, but I think Laffy get's it done...plus they have less mileage to travel.
Laffy by 2 goals. Thinking 2-0 or 3-1 final in regulation.
Looking over past stuff...Dominican is won it all in '03...so maybe it shouldn't be such a surprise they are in the final! ____________________________________________________

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a realistic look at it. Lafayette wins, and they won't need OT to get it done! Dominican has never seen a Defense has smothering as Lafayette's.
Should be an exciting game! ___________________________________________________________________

Hey Barbedad, since Barbe has faced both Lafayette and Fontainebleau can you give us your take on the differences and similarities of the two?
I will give you my expert opinion.....Let's look positon by position and then my prediction. Remember, Barbe has played these 2 teams 5 times this year (2-2-1) and each time I leave more and more impressed.
Fowards: My edge goes to Fontainebleau. Macey and Tarbell are better, faster and better skilled than any 2 fowards Lafayette puts on the field. This is the one position I think Lafayette is weaker this year versus last.
Wings and Mids: No question my edge goes to Lafayette. Chelsea is the best wing we have seen all year and the job Hopkins/Molly does at mid are as strong as any mid line in the state.
Defense: Edge goes to Lafayette with Clara being the best sweeper in the state. Lafayette has yet to give up a goal in the playoffs and I think Barbe is the first to score against FHS so it should be a very low scoring game.
Keeper: Even. Both keepers are excellent and confident.
Coaches: Edge-Lafayette. Both great coaches and the record of Katy Breaux at Lafayette over the last 4 years is top notch. Not the first rodeo deep in the playoffs for the Lady Lions.
Intangebles: Edge- Lafayette. Home field is huge and you will see a huge, loud crowd on hand to support the Lady Lions.
So my prediction. Lafayette scores in the first half on a set play (they are dangerous) on either a corner kick or free kick and plays defense for the 1-0 victory.
The bottom half of the bracket is the strongest side and the Championship Game will not live up to the billing as the FHS/Barbe was or FHS/Lafayette will be. Winner of the game wins state 2 or 3 to nill. [/b]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lafayette clicking on all cylinders. Font plays well against Barbe to beat them in OT. Lafayette is at home. Lafayette 2-1. Dominican v. Dutchtown. No disrespect here...but they're playing for 2nd. ___________________________

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Lafayette if win; Font if Lafayette loses 2. Font if Laf wins; Dominican if they win 3. Lafayette if they lose; Dominican if they lose 4. Barbe 5. Mt. Carmel 6. Mandeville 7. Dutchtown 8. St. Amant 9. Comeaux 10. Terrebonne
If Lafayette wins there is no question as to No.1. If Dominican wins then Font is No. 1, Dominican No. 2 and Lafayette 3 If Dominican loses then Lafayette is No. 1, Font., No. 2 and Dominican No. 3
Obviously, I'm not looking at who wins State but in who has the best 3 teams. Dominican is an excellent team. My opinion is that if they win or lose they are still not the BEST of the three.

There is no doubt who is number one. Dominican beat the number 1, 2, 3, and 8 th seeds. You can say you have a better team, but the number 1 team is the team that wins it on the field. It doesn' t matter what you did during the season, it does matter what you do during the playoffs. Dominican's defense shut down the other teams and their offense did enough to get the wins, but isn't that soccer. Congradulations Dominican!!

Hey, only one weekly poll voter had Dominican in the top ten. What is that all about??? Should i shout from the rooftops that it was me? maybe not, I only had them as #9 or #10.
Congrats Dominican, what a ride.

This reminded me that Dominican had an exceptional player in 03. Jeanne I believe. Did she continue to play soccer?
Where do the Dom girls play fall and spring soccer. Carrolton?
