St Scholastica 2 - 0 Barbe
St Scholastica's attacking offense had Barbe on their heels most of the contest. The game was played predominately in the Barbe half with SSA ahead in possession 70-30%. SSA had many shots on goal and found the back of the net twice. Defensively, SSA marked up well against Barbe's #14, who was their only threat in the game.
Barbe is a quality team who is very well coached. They just ran into a buzzsaw tonight. Much has be said about the field conditions at Jefferson playground. The game was played in a football stadium on a pitch that whose sidelines were barely 50 meters wide, if that. The restricted playing area was to no advantage for either team as they both play on much wider surfaces at home.
Quality soccer played by quality teams....just as this tournament was billed. Would be interesting to read Barbedad's critique of the game.

to "greenfury05"
Do not know of Barbe's team status, but SSA was missing one forward. Goals were by Tricia Johnson off a header early in the game (<10 min) and second goal by Kim Belmont late in first half. Second half was scoreless; however, SSA had many opportunites but did not finish.
"Relentless" seems an over-used term to describe many games, but it is very applicable to this one. SSA came out fast and pressured Barbe the entire game. It was one of those games where the passes and player movement off-the-ball flowed together to create many opportunities in the Barbe half. Defensively, SSA never let Barbe get into any rhythm. They had a few chances to score but never capitalized.

RE adelantero,
Thanks for the update. It is the small things that seperate the better HS teams from most. Obviously SSA reaps the rewards from what seems to be a abundant overflow of quality premier athletes as well as a quality coach.
Best of luck the rest of the season!
