Lafayette High 5 New Iberia 0 Game was not as close as the score indicates. Starters scored 3 goals in the first half then the subs played the last 20 minutes of the half. Starters began the 2nd half - scored 2 goals , then the subs finished the last 20 minutes of the game. Liked what I saw, but still some positions up in the air. Coach is still shuffling people around trying to find the missing pieces. Shots on goal were about 40 - 3 in favor of Lafayette Next match Friday 4pm @ Newman , then Saturday @ Mt. Carmel- 2pm gametime - both JV & Varsity. Good Luck Lions.

Tuesday 12/4 at Newman Newman 7 McGehee 0
Game played at Newman on new artficial surface. Surface is very nice, fast and turtle back has been evened out. Configuration still the same, very short corner kicks that Newman executes very well. Newman has an experienced team that outmatched a young inexperienced McGehee team. 2-0 at half. Sacred Heart vs Newman should be a battle latter in the season.

The score posted for Destrehan & St. Charles Catholic was not a game. The teams practiced against one another. There were no referees present!

This was not a practice game. It was a game that was added to both schedules. If the refs do not show up and you choose to play, the score still stands. Even if you want to count it as a scrimmage, the score still stands.
SCC- 2 Destrehan -1

To say the "officiating wasn't the very best" is an understatement ..... it was absolutely horrible. The refs had no control of the game and it ended in swings being taken on both sides. With more time on the clock some of the HHS girls on the field asked the ref to call the game before time was up before it got any worse (and they were down a point). It was pretty pathetic.

From the Houma Courier:
South Terrebonne 0 H.L. Bourgeois 0 (3-2 on PKs)
The game between the Lady Braves (2-3, 1-0) and the Lady Gators was no different than the boys’ game. There just wasn’t any scoring.
"We’ve got a bunch of girls that were not together at first," H.L. Bourgeois coach Carlisle Jukes said. "My main goal is to put them together at first and they showed it. We played as a team and we got it done tonight."
Both teams kept the ball in the midfield throughout the first half. H.L. Bourgeois took four shots in the half, and the Lady Gators (1-6, 0-1) only took three.
After a scoreless second half, the match went to overtime. Both teams struggled in the extra period and couldn’t get anything going in a second overtime.
"We played this team earlier in the year in a tournament and they just out played us," Boquet said. "These ladies played well tonight."
The match then went to a shootout. Each team had converted a shot, when the Lady Braves Eva Prestenbach made the shot to put H.L. Bourgeois on top, 2-1, but South Terrebonne’s Chelsey Brierley made the penalty kick that followed, tying it 2-2.
"I thought at times we outplayed them, but we didn’t make goals when we needed to," Boquet said. "It was a pretty even match up for the most part. They just got one in and we didn’t. I’m really proud of the girls."
Brooke Vickers scored the game-wining goal for H.L. Bourgeois.
South Terrebonne’s Alicia Bergeron had 10 saves.
Thibodaux 2 South Lafourche 1
At Galliano, the Lady Tigers moved to 1-0 in District 8-I with the victory.
Thibodaux led 1-0 at halftime.
South Lafourche (2-5, 0-1 in district) got a second-half goal from Sofia Collette.
East St. John 0 Terrebonne 10
At Houma on Monday, Jessica Herradon scored eight goals to lead the Lady Tigers to the nondistrict victory at Tom B. Smith Stadium.
Terrebonne led 5-0 at halftime, and Wyonekia Harding got the victory in goal for the Lady Tigers.
