This year's Showcase will be held on the December 13, 14, and 15. The Boys and Girls will play on the same weekend to make for a great few days of soccer.

My Predictions:

Orange Pool A: Who knows?!? St. Louis, Acadiana, Caddo Magnet. These should all be great games. I think any of the 3 could advance.

Orange Pool B: I would say Barbe is the favorite in this group but these games should be close as well.

Blue Pool A: Kelly
Blue Pool B: DeRidder

I would like to see a Caddo Magnet vs Barbe final in the orange division. I think Kelly takes the Blue Division over DeRidder.

Blue Division to me is easy...... I am still a little confused why Kelly is in the Blue Division. I think they win this bracket easily and will play DeRidder. No matter which team comes out of the B bracket I think Kelly will beat in the finals 3-0.

Orange Division is a little tougher to pick..... Could go to any of 4 teams. Bracket A will come down to the St Louis/ Caddo game and Bracket B will come down to the Barbe/Lafayette game. I think the Tournament Directors should rethink not having a semi because that would be some great match-ups also. I will tell you this...... this might be the only match-up this year with Barbe/Lafayette and I know both teams will be fighting for this win. Not real happy with a 8 am game time but should be a great battle.

Final Pick: I could see this being an all Yankee Final (Byrd vs Caddo) and all CoonAss Final (Acadiana vs Lafayette) but I am sticking with an all Lake Charles final (Barbe vs St Louis) with Barbe winning in a shootout.

Pool A: St. Louis finishes 1st w/ Caddo Magnet 2d (Ursuline goes 0-3 and Acadiana goes 1-1-1 and loses on tiebreaker)
Pool B: Barbe wins it w/ Lafayette 2d Barbe beats Lafayette 2-1 in their pool play

Lafayette beats St. Louis
Barbe beats Caddo Magnet

Lafayette comes back and beats Barbe 2-1.

I think Caddo Magnet & St. Louis tie in bracket... It now comes down to tie breakers... Caddo advances and losses to Barbe in the Finals

I see a few things different.

Orange
Acadiana or St. Louis, with Acadiana an edge over St. Louis from last years 4-3 win.

Other side, definately harder to see. Lafayette or Barbe. Barbe with edge, because Lafayette will have to decide to either try to score goals or stop them. Byrd may have something to say about it. Give edge to Barbe.

Finals is coin toss for me, but I think I have to give it to Barbe. They have been ready to play from day one, where Acadiana is still figuring out personel, hopefully they will use this tourney like Lafayette and Comeaux to make some obvious adjustments and improve dramatically. There is something to be said for team confidence, and Barbe has more than Acadiana for this one.

Blue looks like it is easier.

Either way, this tournament should be a great one, good teams looking to vault their seasons forward. Will be great watching.

Lafayette JV squad will fill in for the Sam Houston team that backed out of the tourney. It will be interesting to see just how far youth and aggressiveness will get them in this tourney. They will definitely play hard and leave it on the field.

I'm picking Caddo Magnet from A and Byrd from B with Caddo annihilating Byrd in the final...

Due to the weather forecast for the weekend, I think out of Pool A will be the Water Buffalos and from Pool B the Hippos. Hopefully we will miss the rain so we can watch some good match ups, but if we don't, who ever has the best Mudders will prevail. You can throw skill out the window.

Enjoy the duals. With at least two other tournaments going on, I suspect most of the games will not have three refs.
