I say Fontainebleau 2 Mandeville 0. Why? Why not? Someone has to start this off.

This should be a really good match. Here is Mandeville's chance to move up in the polls.

So Mandeville finally plays a quality top 6 team and they expect to move up in the polls if they win! One game won't do it. But even if it did, they will lose it.

Mandeville will have their hands full tonight - Fontainebleau"s forwards and goalie are top notch. The Lady Skippers are improving every week but they replaced 5 departed seniors almost entirely with freshmen. Reddevil, I do not know what rock you crawled out from but I do not believe that Mandeville "expects" to move up with a win - they probably are pleasantly surprised that they are in the "top ten"- but wait til the real poll hits at season's end. The Lady Skipper will come to play tonight - win or lose.

Fontainebleau 2 Mandeville 1 Mandeville scored first in the first half on a goal by Adrienne Boasso when the Fontainebleau sweeper fell, one on one with keeper, cleanly executed goal. Fontainebleau tied the game late in the second half with a header from freshman Casey Adkins, who killed Mandeville with the 50/50 balls. Then halfway through the first overtime, Kaley Blanton scored upper 90 from beyond the 18 to finish the scoring. In my opinion, the game was even with each team getting chances on goal. Fontainebleau clearly should have scored a few more goals, but shots were hit right to the keeper. The team still has some gelling to do and some people need to get back into the groove again, and then maybe Fontainebleau will return as the high-scoring powerhouse it always has been.

reddevil, you must live under a rain cloud - why so negative? The Lady Skippers came to play - win or lose. Losing to a higher ranked team 2-1 in overtime would be the expected result and was probably better than most Mandy fans anticipated. But honestly, it was a hell of a game and it was a shame that one of the teams had to lose - I bet with 7 min left, every Home fan for Fontainebleau would have been thrilled just to tie - which they finally did toward the end of regulation. Mandeville just ran out of gas toward the end of the match. Fontainebleau is an excellent team - last night they actually looked better than they were last year in my opinion. They have an excellent goalie; they do a lot of boom balls for their forwards which has been one of their trademarks over the years - Mandeville matched up well with their speed and the defensive line played well. Fontainebleau's midfielders seemed to be more physical and won more balls, perhaps partially due to the absence of Adele Thomas, Mandy's veteran center mid, out with a broken leg from last Friday's game against Pontchatoula and put in a cast on Monday - the coach tried several subs but the team was having to make game-time adjustments on the fly. Congrats to the Bulldogs - SSA watch out - what a district!

Mandeville...replaced 5 departed seniors almost entirely with freshmen... Bet they'll be a formidable bunch 2-3 years from now!
