There is a lot of talk of the same teams over and over. They are good and their raves are warranted...but there are teams out there that are just as good but seem to just miss the radar. Tell me who they are and why they seem to "just" miss the "lime- light?"

Haughton is one of those teams right on the edge of being a very competetive team. To start the year they had Loyola down 3-1 after the first half only to lose after 2 ots and 4-3 PKs. The next game they held Parkway scoreless in the first half losing in the end 3-1. They are a small school without a deep bench, they play hard every minute of every game. With several freshmen and sophmore starters they will be one to keep an eye on down the road..

I'll take a shot by Divisions:
Div III- I would say Menard. Currently 9-2 and I saw them play in The Rebel Cup. Good team, should be ranked higher.
Div-2- None. Very weak division besides the top 4 or 5. Look at the teams ranked 8-12, some do not even have a win this season. Am I missing someone in Div II because they might only should have a Top 5 because of how weak this Division is.
Div I- I have a few. Dutchtown. Even though they are ranked 8th, I think they are sitting back and will make a deep run into the playoffs. West Monroe- (No I have not lost my mind). They currently have a 9-2 and have not beaten any top teams but running up a 9-2 record is impressive. And of course Comeaux. Each year I don't give them the love because they are not stacked with Select players like the other 2 or 3 Lafayette schools but they play Comeaux Soccer and are tough to beat. They will never beat you 5-0 but every game is 1-0 or 2-1, win or lose.

I don't think Dutchtown is off the radar any more. They are very good, and will not sneak up on anyone. St. Joseph's is off the radar, and deservedly so. They're improving, and if they could just work on stretching the field with their attacks, rather than boom balling it so much, they will mount more consistent attacks. The winner of District 5 between SJA and BR High will be set up very nicely for the playoff bracket. 2nd place will have a far more difficult run.

Yes, I did forget about St Joe's. Sorry, no disrespect meant. St Joe's is another sleeper team and I will give the coach this, a brutal non-district schedule. Games against- Fountainebleau, Dutchtown (2), Dominican, St Thomas More, Barbe, and Acadiana. This team will be playoff ready once Feb hits.

STA are a quality team with 2 outstanding players...#10 and #15. Menard vs STA is a match I would like to see in the D-3 playoffs! Both are teams that could make some noise in D-3.

From what I've seen West Monroe does have a good soccer program. played them the other night in our first district game. Very close game and though it is hard to admit seeing as i am biased, I played sweeper against their forwards for the majority of the game and for the two overtimes played more of a central midfield/stopper position in creating against their defensive half and was the keeper in the shootout. They had all the ideas and most of the execution of a dangerously good team. Congrats on a job well done. They've earned my respect.
Didn't think soccer up north would get as exciting for me as i played for a state championship team last year. I was definitely wrong. One of my favorite games.

Dutchtown even though a good team will most likely win one game and sent packing as they are in the hardest part of the bracket. Possibly 6 out of the 8 teams in that quarter of the bracket are in Division I top 10.
